1. In 1990, who became the first tennis player in history to be expelled from a grand slam, when he was ejected from the Australian Open?

Answer: John McEnroe

On January 21, McEnroe was handling Mikael Pernfors of Sweden in the fourth round, when John played his 'McEnroe being McEnroe' act again, and was thrown out of the tournament. Later, he stated that he thought that they were playing by the previous season's rules, giving players four warnings.

The new rule which took effect three weeks earlier, stated that a player would be expelled after three displays of unsportsmanlike conduct.
2. National Football League fans watched this coaching legend retire in 1991. He had the reins of the Pittsburgh Steelers for 23 seasons, and took them to four Super Bowl championships in the 1970s. Who was this head coach?

Answer: Chuck Noll

Noll played for six seasons with the Cleveland Browns in the 1950s before taking over as head coach of the Steelers in 1969. His Super Bowl seasons were 1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979. On December 26, he stepped down after 23 seasons. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1993.

The Penguin franchise began in the 1967-68 season. It would not be until 1991 before they won their first Stanley Cup, and it came against the Minnesota North Stars. They repeated it on June 1, 1992, with a win over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Penguins were led by the great Mario Lemieux, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy both times.

The Celtics dominated the NBA and won consecutive championships from 1959-1966. The Bulls won three from 1991-1993, then won three more from 1996-1998.

Answer: Sergey Bubka

Bubka set/broke 35 vaulting indoor/outdoor vaulting records in his career. His 6.14m vault in Italy in 1994, broke his record again of 6.13m, set in 1992. In addition to winning an Olympic gold medal, Sergey won six consecutive IAAF World Championships.

From 1985-1993, Prost won four championships, a feat in itself. However, it was Schumacher who ruled the track from 1994-2004, winning seven titles with two under Benetton's name, then the rest under the Ferrari name.

In 20 runnings of the Boston Marathon from 1991-2010, Kenya was represented 17 times with the crown.

Jose won the Masters by two strokes in 1999 by shooting 8-under par. It was his second Masters win in the decade, taking the green jacket in 1994 with his 9-under par win. He was only the second Spaniard to win the Masters, after Seve Ballesteros won green in 1980 and 1983.
