On the American version of the "Best of the New Scooby Doo Movies" DVD, the scene including the Addams Family is edited out of the intro, because Charles Addams, the creator of the "Addams Family" series, told Hanna Barbera that he would not allow this episode to be released on DVD.

Pugsley had been missing for nearly a week, and it is revealed he actually made it to China (when Gomez walks away, Pugsley pulls a Chinese boy up from the sand).

In "The Scooby-Doo Show" episode 3 "The Gruesome Game of the Gator Ghoul," the name of the swamp is changed to "Hokeyfenokee."

The housekeepers felt the Addamses were a bad influence on the neighborhood children, so they disguised their helicopter as a giant vulture to scare the Addamses away. They later change their mind and come to like the Addamses, and are not sent to jail (despite that they kidnapped Wednesday).
