Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to Mary Alice's narration, nothing exciting had ever happened to Martha Huber until the night she was murdered.

Answer: True

Mary Alice explained to the audience how Martha had always hoped and waited for something exciting to happen to her, but nothing ever had. The night Paul Young killed Martha was the first bit of excitement to enter her life. In Martha's last few seconds of life, she thought that not only was life boring, but it could also be cruel.
2. Lynette hired Mike to rebuild her kitchen.

Answer: False

It was actually Edie who'd hired Mike to do the plumbing in her house as it was rebuilt. Her insurance company had finally paid off the claim, so Edie could begin to build her home. While Susan and Mike made out (kissed) in front of Edie, Felicia called to inform Edie of the discovery of Martha's body. Susan called Lynette, who called Bree, who let Gabby know about Martha.
3. Did Carlos return home to Gabrielle, having been released on bail?

Answer: Yes

Carlos was home, out on bail and tracked by an ankle monitor. House arrest was the condition of his bail release. He was no allowed to travel more than 100 feet from a telephone that tracked his location. Carlos was unable to work, which had Gabby alarmed about their finances.

The judge had previously said that turning over his passport was Carlos' condition of bail, and that if he did that he could visit his mother in the hospital. Now suddenly he was under house arrest, which was a continuity mistake.
4. "Human beings feed on misery. We might as well give them what they want." Did Paul Young say this?

Answer: No

Felicia said this to Detective Copeland. She was talking about the onlookers gathered in Martha's front yard. She then went out to tell them what they were waiting to hear. Felicia gave the folks of Wisteria Lane all the gory details she had to offer. Then she told the crowd she'd be having an estate sale the day after tomorrow, which is impossible, as probate does not clear that fast.
5. It was Edie's idea to scatter Martha's ashes at Torch Lake.

Answer: True

Edie told Susan, Lynette, Bree and Gabby that Torch Lake was where Martha's husband had proposed to her, and Edie wanted the neighbors to all caravan up there for a memorial. The four women all came up with excuses as to why they couldn't make the trip.
6. Bree and Rex went on a picnic.

Answer: False

It was actually Bree and George Williams who had a picnic. It was Bree's suggestion and while there, George gave Bree a gift. It was a 9mm Luger PO8, which he said did not cost him anything. Bree tried to refuse the gift, citing that as an antique it was too valuable. George said his grandfather had left it to him.

A soldier had surrendered the gun to his grandfather during WW2. It was an officer's model with a mother of pearl handle.
7. Did Susan finally agree to go with Edie to spread Mrs. Huber's ashes?

Answer: Yes

With the threat of exposure looming possible inside Martha's journals, Susan went to Edie with the intent to confess her complicity in the fire that destroyed Edie's home. She chickened out (good girl) and offered to attend the memorial for Martha with Edie.

The guilt Susan felt seemed apparent on her face. She did confess the truth after Edie poured out her heart, and Edie tossed the ashes into Susan's face.
8. Bree accidentally shot Rex in this episode.

Answer: False

It was George who accidentally shot himself. Bree was schooling him in target practice, but George was overcome by her scent (macaroons) and tried to kiss her. Bree squealed and tried to escape the kiss, and George shot off his own toe.
9. We found out that Mike had been hired by a man to find his daughter Deirdre.

Answer: True

After Mike found his house ransacked, money missing, maps missing and heard the message on his machine, he went to the man who'd employed him. The man, Noah Taylor, accused Mike of abandoning his daughter, Deirdre, to marry a nice safe wife. Mike became aggressive, expressing his need to find Deirdre. Taylor told Mike he was dying, and wanted to know what happened to Deirdre before he died. Hmm, could this have to do with Mary Alice, Paul and Zach Young?
10. Edie decided that Mrs. Huber's ashes would find their final resting place in her own front yard.

Answer: False

No, she decided they'd spend eternity on Susan's front lawn. She used a water hose to rinse the ashes off of Susan and into the yard. She told Susan she would not report the fire to the police, but would expect an invitation to the ladies' Tuesday poker game.
