This episode included flashbacks of Jin and so therefore it was appropriate that he was the first character we saw. In Jin's first scene, he was staring out at the ocean and then looked around the island. As he continued to look around, he then flashed back to a meeting he had with Sun's father in North Korea.

Jin flashed back to a meeting he had with Sun's father, Mr. Paik, who was signing a document. Sun's father asked Jin why he wanted to marry Sun so Jin replied that he may be from a fishing village but he was ambitious. Her father asked him what his ambitions were so Jin said he wanted to one day open up a restaurant and own a hotel.

Chung guest starred in this episode as Mr. Paik, who was Sun's father. Mr. Paik appeared in flashbacks where he spoke with Jin about Sun. Chung starred as Mr. Paik for a total of four episodes for the series. He has also guest starred on the TV shows, "Alias", "The West Wing", and "The Agency."

After the first flashback concluded, Jin saw Sun in a bikini down by the beach so he rushed over to cover her up and asked her if she had lost her mind to be wandering around in just a bikini.
