1980s Cartoon Villains Trivia Quiz

The cartoon is called "The Smurfs". Papa, Lazy, and Handy are three of the Smurfs. The Smurfs' enemy is Gargamel and his sidekick is Azrael the cat.

Answer: Thundercats

One of my favorite cartoons of all time! The main characters of "Thundercats" are Lion-O, Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, Wily Kit, and Wily Kat. As you can see, they were all different breeds of wild cats!

The cartoon is "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". Splinter is the mutant rat who trained the turtles in ninjitsu, and April O'Neil is a TV reporter who discovers and befriends the turtles.

"He-Man" made its television debut in 1983. He-Man has a twin sister named She-Ra, Princess of Power.

Answer: Popeye

"Popeye" made his first appearance in 1929 in a comic strip, and then the character became an animated series in 1933.

Bluto wanted Popeye's girlfriend, Olive Oyl!

Answer: Inspector Gadget

"Inspector Gadget" was a cartoon about a clumsy, absent minded detective who had gadgets built into his body. Dr. Claw was the leader of an evil organization called M.A.D. It has never been verified what M.A.D. stood for.

Answer: "Transformers"

Transformers started as a toy line first, and then the cartoon was made. Megatron died, and was recreated as Galvatron in "Transformers: The Movie".

Answer: "G.I. Joe"

"G.I. Joe" is a military themed cartoon that made its debut in 1985. It started off as a successful toyline before becoming a cartoon. Every boy that grew up in the 80's had a G.I. Joe action figure!

Answer: Big Boss

The cartoon is called "C.O.P.S.", and it ran from 1988-1989. "Fighting crime in a future time, protecting Empire City from Big Boss and his gang of crooks" was the tagline for the cartoon. Each character in the series is totally different in appearance from both the toys and the comic series.

This was a classic cops and robbers cartoon. Although it was short lived, it was one of my favorites of all time!

Rainbow Brite first aired in 1984.

Murky hated colors and was determined to get rid of all colors. Lurky is Murky's side-kick, who really doesn't hate colors but he does as Murky tells him.

The Snorks are a race of small, colorful, fictional beings that live in the underwater world of Snorkland.

Bigweed is a villain who can magically disguise himself to look like a Snork or any form of sea life.

Answer: "Strawberry Shortcake"

Strawberry Shortcake went on to have many villains, but the Purple Pieman was the first. There is no such cartoon called "The Pink Pie Puppies". I made that up.

Answer: Wile E. Coyote

This cartoon was part of Looney Tunes. There was barely any spoken communication between the two characters, but they communicated by holding up signs to each other.

Didn't you root for the coyote sometimes? :-)

Answer: Sylvester

Tweety Bird and Sylvester were part of the Looney Tune series. People often thought Tweety Bird was a female character, however Tweety was a male.

Sylvester was the black and white cat who chased Tweety Bird, but could never catch him.

Answer: "Thundarr The Barbarian"

This cartoon made its debut in the early 1980's, and action figures were made in 2004.

Gemini the evil wizard was the only repeating villain on the show.
