Emperor Turhan has come to Babylon 5 to offer his apologies for all that the Centauri and his family have done to the Narn. He knows that he is dying, and that if he does not do this now, it will never get down. However, he is unable to accomplish this in full because of the failure of his health and the scheming of Londo and Refa.

Answer: Prime Minister

Refa has Prime Minister Malachi assassinated so that there would be no one to stand in the way of his attempt to control the Centauri. These are Emperor Turhan's parting words to Malachi: "You have always served me well, old friend. And sometimes I think I do not thank you as much as I should...Goodbye."

Answer: Sheridan

G'Kar goes to Sheridan to protest the arrival of the Centauri Emperor. G'Kar: "So, you are going to allow this, even over my objections?" Sheridan: "What? Did I somehow turn invisible or something? Yes, Ambassador. The Emperor is allowed to come aboard. Now, if this bothers you, I suggest you stay in your quarters, stick your fingers in your ears and hum real loud until it's over. Unless you'd like to try something as breathtakingly rational as trying to open up a dialogue. G'Kar, you are in a position to negotiate directly with the head of the Centauri Republic, and you are wasting it on a...tantrum."

Answer: Londo

Refa instructs Londo as to his role in the reception for Emperor Turhan. This speech contains words that will cause problems for the ailing emperor. Throughout the conversation, Vir is looking rather squeemish. When Refa leaves, Londo says to Vir: "This conversation, it makes you uncomfortable?" Vir: "Yes, yes it does." Londo: "Then for once we have something in common."

Answer: Sheridan

Here is the conversation between Sheridan and Turhan. Turhan: "It has occurred to me recently that I have never chosen anything. I was born into a role that had been prepared for me. I did everything I was asked to do, because it never occurred to me to choose otherwise. And now, at the end of my life, I wonder what might've been." Sheridan: "That's why my father taught me to live each second as though it would be the last moment of my life.

He said: 'If you love, love without reservation. If you fight, fight without fear.' He called it the way of the warrior." Turhan: "No regrets then?" "A few.

But just a few. You?" Sheridan: "Oh, enough to fill a lifetime. So much has been lost, so much forgotten. So much pain, so much blood. And for what, I wonder.

The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. And our lives slip away, moment by moment, lost in that vast terrible inbetween. But there is still time to seize that one last fragile moment. To choose something better, to make a difference, as you say. And I intend to do just that."

After Emperor Turhan has collapsed, Refa and Londo are planning how they are going to take over the government. Londo remembers that Morden once told him to "just pick a target." They choose a Narn colony in quadrant 14. When Refa leaves, Vir tries to convince Londo not to go through with this arrangement. Londo: "Find Mr. Morden. Bring him here." Vir: "Londo, don't do this." Londo: "I have no choice." Vir: "Yes, you do. Londo, please, please, please, I know you don't listen to me, but I'm asking you just this one time. Don't do this.

There is no turning back once you start down that road." Londo: "Do I have to find him and bring him myself?" Vir: "No. No, I'll go. I'll go and I'll bring him back. And someday I'm going to remind you of this conversation and maybe then, then you'll understand." Londo: "I understand just fine. By this time tomorrow, we will be at war with the Narn. May the Great Maker forgive me."

Answer: dagger

G'Kar laments to Kha'Mak his dismay that the Emperor is dying without G'Kar's help: "I was ready. I had prepared myself. I had made my peace with the universe, put all my affairs in order. I had the dagger in my hand! And he has the indecency to start dying on his own. Never in my life have I seen a worse case of timing."

Answer: Franklin

Franklin goes to G'Kar (who is talking with Kha'Mak) in his quarters and rings his doorbell. G'Kar: "Who is it?" Franklin: "Dr. Franklin." G'Kar to himself: "Maybe it's good news. With luck, he's feeling better. All they have to do is prop him up for two minutes. [to Kha'Mak] I...I'll call you back." G'Kar: "Enter." Franklin: "I just came from seeing the Centauri Emperor." G'Kar: "How is the poor fellow? I was so looking forward to meeting him and opening up a dialog." Franklin: "Funny, he was looking forward to meeting you, too.

He had a message for you. Given his present condition, he asked me to relay that message for him." G'Kar: "I have no time for threats." Franklin: "He wanted to say he's sorry." G'Kar: "What?" Franklin: "He came all the way out here, risked his health and endangered his life, so that he could stand beside a Narn in neutral territory and apologize...for all the things the Centauri have done to your people. For all the things his family did.

He said...'We're wrong.

The hatred between our people can never end until someone is willing to say 'I'm sorry' and try and find a way to make things right again. To atone for our actions.' He said it was the only choice he ever made in his life. And now that seems to have been taken away from him." G'Kar: "I had...I had no idea." Franklin: "No, I'm sure you didn't. Maybe that's the biggest tragedy of the whole damn story."

Answer: looking at them

Here is Sinclair's message to Garibaldi: "Hello, old friend. It's been a while. I'm entrusting this message to an associate of mine who has sworn to bring it to you at any cost, including his own life. My job on the Minbari homeworld is more than just representing Earth.

The president doesn't know about that part yet and...I don't think it would be wise of you to tell him. There's a great darkness coming, Michael. Some of the Minbari have been waiting for it a long time." "The bearer of this message is one of my Rangers.

Some are Minbari, most are humans. They've been drawn here to learn to work together and prepare for the fight ahead...Their job for now is to patrol the frontier, to listen, to watch, and return with reports too sensitive to entrust to regular channels.

They are my eyes and ears. Where you see them, you see me...In the name of our friendship I ask that you give them every courtesy and co-operation. I wish I could tell you more. I wish I could warn you, but the others don't think it's time yet. Stay close to the Vorlon and watch out for the Shadows.

They move...when you are not looking at them."

When Turhan first arrives on the station he says to Franklin: "I've never seen a Vorlon before. In or out of its shell. But over the centuries we've sent many expeditions into Vorlon space. None of them returned. Ah...I've head many strange stories about them." When he is dying in sickbay, he laments that: "I would very much like to have seen a Vorlon." He turns his head to the side, and a shadow looms over him. Kosh has come to visit the Centauri Emperor. Turhan asks Kosh: "How will this end?" Kosh replies: "In fire."

After the Centauri attack on the Narn in quadrant 14 is made known, Garibaldi approaches Sheridan and Ivanova about the information he has learned about the possibility of another old race being responsible for the attacks. During the resulting conversation, Sheridan says to Ivanova: "Sheridan's rule number 29: Always make your opponent think you know more than you really know."

Answer: "Continue. Take my people back to the stars."

Afterwards, Refa asks Londo: "Mollari. What did he say, really?" Londo: "He said...that we are both damned." This doesn't seem to worry Refa too much as he says: "Well. It's a small enough price to pay for immortality."

G'Kar addresses the council after the attack on their colony: "For a hundred years the Centauri occupied our world, devastating it. We swore we would never let that happen again. This attack on our largest civilian colony has inflicted terrible damage and loss of life.

They've crossed the line we can not allow them to cross. As a result two hours ago my government officially declared war against the Centauri Republic. Our hope for peace is over. We are now at war...We are now at war." Later, Refa comments to Londo: "For the first time in a hundred years, Ambassador, our people are on the right track again, and we have you to thank for it. You will find the emperor's gratitude...most rewarding."

Answer: Hello old friend

The messages are brought by a Ranger, one that has visited Babylon 5 previously (the security officer notes that this is his third visit this month). Once he arrives, he trails Garibaldi until he is stopped by him. He says that has been sent to Babylon 5 to deliver a message to him, but Garibaldi has him arrested.

The Ranger finally gets to deliver his message to Garibaldi, saying that the message will explain everything.

Answer: Centauri Emperor

This is from the conversation between Sheridan and Emperor Turhan in the observation dome before the reception. Turhan is impressed with Sheridan and his work on the station: "News of the work you're doing here has reached even the Royal Palace on Centauri Prime, and I am deeply moved by the knowledge that you would choose to stand in harm's way in the interest of peace."

Answer: telepaths

Ivanova explains to Sheridan that the women are telepaths that are raised together from birth so that they have an especially strong connection between each other. There are always telepaths with the Emperor, even when he travels. When he does travel, half stay with him and half remain at the Royal Court so that each end knows exactly what is going on in the other place.

Answer: heart attack

The Emperor suffers a heart attack almost as he reaches the reception hall. This alarms G'Kar most especially, since he was going to take this opportunity to kill the Emperor.

Answer: Bombardment of Narn from space

Here is a transcript of the dream sequence: We see a great hand reaching out of a star, then a shot of Centauri Prime from orbit. Then Londo finds himself in a sandy area looking up into the sun where he sees a group of shadow ships fly by. Londo is being crowned emperor and then we see him sitting on the throne, an old man with G'Kar looming in the background.

Then we see the hand reaching out of the star again right before G'Kar and Londo strangle each other. Each of these scenes can be interpreted from knowledge we gain throughout the series.

The hand was foreshadowed in "The Geometry of Shadows." We see many shots of Centauri Prime, but this appears to be after the attack by members of the Interstellar Alliance. The Shadow ships fly over the Centauri Royal Palace when Cartagia invites them to build a base on Centauri Prime in "The Hour of the Wolf." Londo is crowned emperor after the Regent dies in "The Fall of Centauri Prime." G'Kar and Londo strangle each other to end Londo's suffering at the hand of the keeper "War Without End, Part II."

G'Kar records his will before leaves for the reception: "I take this action without the knowledge or permission of my government. Neither should my aide, Na'Toth, be held accountable for my actions. The responsibility is mine alone. I ask that my remains and my personal property be sent back to Narn--to my family. My copy of the Book of G'Quan I leave to Na'Toth, with the hope of her eventual enlightenment."

Answer: Buys Londo a drink.

G'Kar finds Londo in the Zocalo. Londo is terrified, since he new that the ships have already left for quadrant 14 to attack the Narn colony. G'Kar: "Mollari!...You!" Londo: "No, I can explain everything." G'Kar: "I'm going to get you...a drink." Londo: "Oh, no, I don't do, er, I'm not sure." G'Kar: Sit, sit, sit, sit, Mollari.

It's not every day I have a revelation, you know"...[to the bartender]..."Two of your finest"...[to Londo]..."I've heard something, and it makes me think there is still hope for us, after all. I believed your people capable of only...murder and pain.

But apparently there is still...a spark of decency in your genetic code. It's not much of a foundation - I'll grant you that - but it's a start. I never thought that I would be saying this, Mollari, but...to the health of your Emperor. And perhaps, to your health as well." A shocked Londo says: "To the Emperor. And thank you."
