Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In response to Duck's suicide bombing at the graduation ceremony, the Cylons use the NCP to arrest and detain a list of people for "colluding with the insurgency." What notable former member of Galactica's crew is taken?

Answer: Cally

Jammer, who survived the suicide bomb and was seen digging his way out from several bodies in a deleted scene, is met by Cavil. He gets a list of humans to round up and put in the detention center that includes Cally. During the night, the New Caprica Police goes around to the tents, and they take Cally from her bed with Nicky crying in his crib.

At some point later, Chief Tyrol returns to his tent to find Nicky still crying and Cally gone.
2. Aboard the fleet, the high-ranking officers meet about the rescue operation. Kat mentions they need a list of potential pilots on the ground in order to fly the grounded civilian ships, but what stumbling block is in place to getting those ships off the ground?

Answer: The Cylons have removed all launch keys

In order to prevent the Colonial ships from ever taking off from New Caprica unless the Cylons wanted them to, the launch keys to each ship have been removed and hidden. There are two options: create new launch keys for each ship (which Lee says will take weeks for the research and development alone due to their sophistication) or somehow recover the keys. Since the more practical choice is to simply get the keys back, Adama makes the decision to send down Sharon in order to infiltrate the Cylon defenses.
3. In her replica apartment cell, Starbuck is still fed up with Leoben. Wanting to show her how precious life can be, he brings in a little girl named Kacey and introduces her to Starbuck. What relation does he say the two have?

Answer: Starbuck is her mother

As Leoben begins to ascend the stairs, he asks Starbuck if she remembers the farm on Caprica. When she remarks she remembered blowing it up, he claims it was not a total loss and they were able to save one of her ovaries. He then brings in a blonde girl in his arms, and introduces Kacey to her by saying that Starbuck is her mother.
4. Adama decides that he will send Sharon down to New Caprica as his liaison officer with the resistance. He and Lee argue about the decision, during which Admiral Adama brings up a reason why she might be able to circumvent Cylon defenses. What is it?

Answer: Centurions cannot distinguish between different Cylons of the same model

During Adama and Lee's walk through the corridors of Galactica arguing about the rescue mission and Sharon, Adama brings up something we had never heard before: Centurions cannot distinguish different Cylons of the same model - for example, Sharon Agathon and Boomer would look exactly the same to them, while the two Cylons would know exactly who the other was.

The Cylons did this so that the Centurions would not become self-aware and begin refusing orders from certain Cylons, thereby preventing their own rebellion like that of the Cylons against the humans.
5. During Adama and Lee's argument, Lee argues the entire rescue mission is a bad idea and says the human race is now those civilians still in the fleet. What order does Adama give Lee in response?

Answer: Continue the search for Earth with Pegasus and the civilian fleet

While Adama and Lee are arguing, Lee makes the case that the safe bet for the human race is now the 2,000 civilians still in the fleet that they already have. He sees the rescue mission as a lost cause, since even though the Cylons have reduced their perimeter forces, they still have five base stars in orbit around New Caprica. Adama says they have a responsibility to those they left behind, and then tells Lee to take Pegasus and the fleet to continue the search for Earth.
6. Yet another insurgent attack hits a power substation, wounding 23 Cylons (of whom 14 were euthanized), killing 4 humans, and knocking out power for half of the city. What kind of attack was it?

Answer: Another suicide bomb

Despite Roslin's plea to Tigh about no longer using suicide bombs as part of the resistance, a woman blows herself up after shooting an NCP officer at a power substation. We see the footage of the suicide bomb through a security camera video aboard Colonial One. Doral and Cavil clearly care far more about the Cylon casualties, and Cavil even goes as far to say "Who gives a frak about that part" when Sharon mention the human casualties. Whereas there had been a majority of Cylon models (Twos, Threes, Sixes, and Eights) in favor of maintaining as much peace as possible with the humans, after this attack things change.

The Threes and most Sixes (aside from Caprica Six) both vote to take much more drastic actions to quell the resistance.
7. D'Anna presents the Cylon response to the attack to Baltar: the summary executions of several humans that requires his signature in order to be "legal" and prevent it from being a sin. Under what circumstances does Baltar sign the order?

Answer: Doral kills Caprica Six and threatens to kill Baltar

As Cavil eloquently explains to Baltar, the Cylons need him to sign the order because "they're worried about what God might think if they commit murder; they're covering their existential [behinds]." Baltar refuses, so one Doral says they will find another president while another puts a gun to Baltar's head. Caprica Six loudly protests, resulting in Doral killing her (this after D'Anna made a point about Caprica Six committing the first Cylon-on-Cylon violent act as we saw in 'Downloaded') and violently ordering Baltar to sign the order.

He has a conversation with Head Six who convinces him to sign because they will kill him if he doesn't.
8. Aboard the fleet, Sharon Agathon becomes the first Cylon knowingly sworn in as a Colonial officer. The resistance chooses a spot for a rendezvous, and the Cylons find out where it will take place. Who gives the Cylons that information?

Answer: Ellen Tigh

Cavil threatens that Saul will "lose more than an eye" if Ellen does not give the Cylons information about a high-profile meeting for the resistance. Later, at a meeting between Tigh, Tyrol, and Anders, Tigh has a map containing the location of the rendezvous and wants to burn it after they have it committed to memory. Ellen says she will do it for him, but instead slips it inside her jacket and later gives to the Cylons.
9. The NCP and Cylons begin rounding up humans around New Caprica in order to be executed. Aboard the trucks, we see several high-profile members of the fleet. Who is NOT among them?

Answer: Sam Anders

Cally was already in detention while the arrests around New Caprica were being made, so she was loaded on the closest truck to the center while Boomer argued for her release. Roslin was arrested while teaching in the school, and she was joined by Zarek, who has been in a detention cell since the Cylons came to New Caprica.

He told Baltar he would not collaborate with the Cylons, and they promptly threw him in jail despite being Vice President.
10. The trucks carrying the detainees all stop and they are given a five-minute rest break. Jammer, nervous since he knows what is going to happen to all of the prisoners, frees Cally. What happens as she runs off?

Answer: Centurions appear and raise their weapons, followed by the sound of gunfire

Jammer cuts Cally's plastic handcuffs and tells her to run. She makes her way down a hill and into the trees when five Centurions appear and raise their weapons to the detainees. As she makes her way into some trees, we hear gunfire. Meanwhile, the episode also ends with Starbuck taking Leoben's hand after Kacey wakes up from an accident and more Centurions make a surprise attack on the rendezvous point thanks to Ellen's information.
