Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Sheridan and Ivanova are presiding over a Transport Association meeting when a man starts to get belligerant. Sheridan hands him a weapon. What is wrong with the weapon?

Answer: missing an energy cap

Sheridan takes the metal club from the rabble-rouser and gives him the gun. Sheridan: "You have the gun. All I've got is...what I've got." Man: "No way. I drop you and your guards will kill me." Sheridan: "Maybe. Maybe not, hell, anything happens to me, everyone gets an instant promotion. You've got the gun, go ahead, go for it. I'll wait for you." The guy gives up, Sheridan calls for a recess ... Ivanova: "With all due respect, that was grade-A stupid. I mean, what if the guy would have gone for it? I mean, what if he would have just blown your brains all over the place? What if he...What's that?" Sheridan: "Energy cap. I palmed it when I shoved the gun in his pocket." Ivanova: "You are going to give me an ulcer." Sheridan: "Okay, okay, next time I'll give him a live gun. You really do want that promotion, don't you?" Ivanova: "Next time you gonna--?!"
2. What is the name of the Narn that has come to replace G'Kar as the official representative to Babylon 5?

Answer: Na'Far

Na'Far and Ta'Lon enter the mostly empty meeting room after Ivanova and Sheridan finish the conversation from question 1. Na'Far steps up and says: "Captain Sheridan? Counselor Na'Far. I've just arrived and wanted to check in with you. I'm here to replace citizen G'Kar."
3. What off-limits information did Garibaldi admit to Ivanova that he had looked through when Sheridan came on station?

Answer: Sheridan's personnel file

Ivanova, Franklin and Garibaldi are discussing Sheridan's abilities in Earheart's. Franklin goes off to the bathroom. As soon as he's gone, Garibaldi says to Ivanova: "Hey, did I ever tell you I looked through the Captain's personnel file?" Ivanova: "You what?!" Garibaldi: "Shhh!" Ivanova: "Michael, that information is strictly off limits." Garibaldi: "I did it when he first came aboard. I like to know who I'm dealing with. And who knew he turn out to be okay, huh? Right now, according to his file, Sheridan is a good tactical thinker.

He can take an inferior defensive force and turn it into an offensive force capable of taking on a better-equipped enemy. Now, he did it with the Black Star, he did it during the Mars riots. Now, you ask me, he is the one chance we've got to make it through this thing alive." Ivanova: "Maybe...Did you look through my files when I came onboard?" Garibaldi: "Commander, that information is strictly off limits."
4. Londo asks someone to repay a favor that is owed to him. Who is that person?

Answer: Delenn

Here are some snippets from the conversation between Londo and Delenn -- Londo: "And I know that things have been somewhat difficult between us for some time, Delenn. That is most unfortunate. I feel sometimes as though I have lost a friend." Delenn: "I think you've lost much more than a friend, Ambassador, but that is between you and whatever gods you worship." ... Londo: "The Centauri diplomatic mission to your homeworld has been closed for, what, several years now? Some trouble I understand with our last envoy. I think that Vir would be the perfect replacement. You will find him most inoffensive.

He is friendly. He...he keeps to himself. He wouldn't even spy on your government. He would consider it rude." ... Londo: "Over the last 2 years, to my considerable surprise, I have become very fond of Vir. Sometimes in his eyes I see a younger version of myself before...But he would be better off away from here. Away from what must be.

He would only get in the way." Delenn: "I think, perhaps, you need him." Londo: "Need? I do not need anyone." ... Londo: "Sometimes I miss that we don't talk any more, Delenn." Delenn: "We never really talked, Londo." Londo: "No, I suppose not."
5. What substance does Garibaldi accuse Dr. Franklin of abusing?

Answer: stims

Garibaldi and Franklin are having dinner when Garibaldi asks Franklin if he has been using stims. Franklin gets upset about the accusation, saying: "Stop putting your problems on me just because
you never met a bottle you didn't like!" But he calms down and admits to using stims, but says that he has everything under control.
6. In what previous episode did we see Ta'Lon?

Answer: "All Alone in the Night"

Ta'Lon was the Narn that Sheridan rescued from the Streib ship in the episode "All Alone in the Night." They have a short little get-to-know-each-other scene in the Zocalo. Ta'Lon: "I owe you a debt, a debt I must repay as a matter of honor." Sheridan: "I'm not entirely sure what my superiors back home would think if I suddenly started showing up places with a Narn bodyguard." Ta'Lon: "They would say, 'Here is a man who will live to be a hundred and fifty.'"
7. Londo decides that keeping Vir around is no longer in anyone's best interest. Where does he have Vir posted?

Answer: Minbar

Londo tells Vir that he will be going to Minbar. Vir: "I don't want to go to Minbar." Londo: "Oh, of course you want to go to Minbar. Everyone wants to go to Minbar. It is the vacation spot of the season, assuming you're part of the long robes and headbones set...I want to protect you." Vir: "I don't want to be protected!" Londo: "Well, I'm afraid it's not your decision.

It's already done. You've been promoted. You'll earn more money, receive more attention, women may even come to find you attractive...in time." Vir: "Londo, if I leave, you'll be alone." Londo: "Pah, I've always been alone."
8. Finish the quote: "Corwin, check these figures again, make sure they came through the translator okay. I don't want to get killed because of a ________. It would be embarrassing."

Answer: typo

Ivanova and Sheridan discuss the probe. Ivanova: "I don't understand. I mean, why would they want to destroy us if we can't answer all their questions?" Sheridan: "Whoever sent this considers intelligence the most important factor in deciding who should live and expand out into the universe.

The probe finds worthy candidates and eliminates those it considers less evolved, less intelligent." Ivanova: "Sort of like an interstellar gardner, plucking out the weeds so just the flowers can grow?" Sheridan: "Basically, yes." Ivanova: "Well, lets just hope the high-IQ boys back home give us all the right answers to this test, otherwise we're going to get hit with a five hundred thousand megaton weed-wacker."
9. Dr. Franklin is having difficulty treating one of his patients because a translator is unavailable. What race is that patient?

Answer: Llort

This is just another scene showing how much the stims have already affected Franklin. He gets a call from the medical boys back home and blows up at them when they tell him that they don't have all the answers. He sits at his desk and pulls open the drawer with the stims, but resists the urge to use them. Later, after a similar conversation, he breaks down and uses the stims.
10. Finish the quote: "I swear, if we live through this, somebody's going to find their shower preferences reprogrammed to ___________."

Answer: ice water

Ivanova, Corwin and Sheridan are in C&C discussing the probe. Sheridan: "How long before that probe detonates?" Ivanova: "Six hours." Sheridan [to Corwin]: "Tell the Transport Pilots Association we'll reconvene in seven hours. [to Ivanova] If that thing blows, at least it'll save me from one more annoying conversation." Ivanova: "Always finding the good in every situation, eh Captain?" Sheridan: "Absolutely. If I didn't, I might end up like you." [Sheridan exits] Ivanova: "Hey, what's that supposed to mean? Did anybody else hear that? Did you hear that?" Corwin: "No, Commander." Ivanova: "Good. I swear, if we live through this, somebody's going to find their automatic shower preferences reprogrammed for ice water."
11. True or False: Sheridan orders Ivanova to transmit the answers to the probe's questions before the deadline.

Answer: False

Sheridan decides that the probe is a trick, and that if they send all the correct answers, the probe will destroy them since they can be perceived as a threat. At 15 seconds before detonation, Sheridan says not to transmit. The deadline passes, and the probe leaves.

Sheridan then sends a small probe of their own out to transmit the answers. When it sends the transmission, the alien probe self-destructs, proving Sheridan right.
12. Person1: "If I live through this job, without completely losing my mind, it will be a miracle of biblical proportions!" Person2: "Well there goes my faith in the Almighty." -- Who is Person2?

Answer: Corwin

Sheridan sees that he was successful, but then exclaims "Aw nuts." Ivanova: "What's wrong? I mean, we survived." Sheridan: "Right, which means now I have to go back to that stupid transport association meeting." Sheridan leaves and Ivanova says: "If I live through this job, without completely losing my mind, it will be a miracle of biblical proportions!" Corwin: "Well there goes my faith in the Almighty."
13. Where does Garibaldi apologize to Dr. Franklin for accusing him of substance abuse?

Answer: Earhart's

Garibaldi and Franklin are in Earhart's when Garibalid apologizes. Franklin again states that he has everything under control. He also says that he got through the day's crisis without using the stims (which is an obvious lie).
14. To whom was the following quote spoken: "I carry my sword in my hand. You carry yours in your heart and in your mind. As I see it, that gives you a two-to-one advantage in arms."

Answer: G'Kar

Ta'Lon convinces G'Kar that his place is on Babylon 5 and that it would not be right for G'Kar to leave. The other Narns on the station need G'Kar to lead the rebellion against the Centauri, even at the risk of their own families.
15. Who is the last person we see in this episode?

Answer: Londo

Londo walks Vir to the departure area for Vir's trip to Minbar. The two are silent as Vir boards his ship. Londo nods his approval and goodbye while Vir disappears, leaving Londo alone to his fate.
