Leo was briefed on how there were some threats made, against churches, in five counties in Tennessee. He called up Josh to get any updates but Josh just told him he was busy and to not call every five minutes to get an update. Just then, a woman entered Leo's office and he asked her if she wanted to get breakfast. This was when Leo stated that breakfast was his favorite meal to eat out.

This episode contained flashbacks on the earliest days of The Bartlet Administration. Leo was given a summons to testify before a House investigative committee about President Bartlet concealing his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Just before he testified, President Bartlet called Leo and told him that, if he had to perjure himself to protect him and the presidency, he should do it. Leo commented that he was going to testify before 17 intelligence agencies.

Matheson originated the role of Vice President Hoynes and played him for the entire run of "The West Wing." We learned, during the show's run, that Hoynes ran for the Democratic nomination for U.S. President in 1998 but lost to Jed Bartlet when his strategist, Josh Lyman, went to work for Bartlet's campaign. Over the issue of President Bartlet refusing to disclose his MS diagnosis during the primaries, in 1998, Hoynes was bitter and disappointed that Bartlet did not do this and this was one reason why he and the President had a rough relationship. Matheson appeared sporadically throughout the entire run of "The West Wing." Matheson had guest starring stints on the TV series', "Shark", "Entourage", and "Without a Trace."

There was a flashback, during the days of when Bartlet ran for the Democratic nomination for U.S. President in 1998, and Leo came to visit Bartlet. When he first saw him, he called him "governor" and it was revealed that Bartlet was Governor of New Hampshire when he ran for President. In this conversation, Mr. Bartlet asked Leo how his children were doing and Leo said they were fine.

Leo's lawyer stated that, since the Wilson's had been dead for 80 years, the example did not fall into the scope of the hearing.

Later on, in the episode, Michael informed Josh that they caught one of the people that was part of the conspiracy to blow up these churches.

These threats were made during the holiday season since this episode was broadcast on December 12th, 2001.

Leo told her about a meeting with two potential donors, to Bartlet's presidential campaign, and that it was right before one of Bartlet's debates.

He told his attorney, Jordon Kendall, that it was not the best time to inform the donors of Bartlet's diagnosis of MS.
