In the very first scene, we saw Jack have a conversation with Sun about her pregnancy. Jack asked her if she was doing alright and she told him she felt fine but tired. Later on, Sun had Juliet examine her to make sure her baby was fine. Juliet told her the baby was doing okay.

In the previous episode, "Catch-22", Desmond, Charlie, Jin, and Hurley saw someone crash into a tree and went out to rescue the person. In the episode, "D.O.C.", when they brought the body to shore, it was revealed to be a woman. When the four men helped the woman up, she started to mutter in Spanish.

The four saw a wound, on the woman, and raced to save her life, which they did. We eventually learned that the woman's name was Naomi Dorrit.

In this flashback, Sun was at her home, in Korea, and she was waiting for her husband, Jin, to come home and help her unpack for their new home. Jin came home and told Sun that he got her tofu soup, which was her favorite kind of soup. Jin told Sun that they should unpack later and that they should eat first.

Sun confronted Juliet since she wanted answers about Juliet's research since she had suspicions about her. Sun asked Juliet what happened to pregnant women, on the island, and Juliet replied that they died. After Juliet told Sun this, Kate urged Sun to leave and Sun left.

Jin, Hurley, Charlie, and Desmond realized they were being watched by someone who wore an eye patch. The guy, with the eye patch, started to run and Jin chased him and managed to tackle him to the ground. Desmond got out a gun and asked the guy to tell them who he was. Charlie remarked that the man shot Sayid and was an Other.

When the man first spoke, he told Desmond that the gun he held on him was a flare gun but Desmond told him, if he did not continue to speak, he would know what it felt like to have a flare in his chest.

In one scene, Sun decided to track down Jin's father and she found him on his boat. They went to a private place to have a talk. Sun asked Jin's father why he was not at her and Jin's wedding. Jin's father asked her what Jin told her and she replied that Jin said his father was dead. Jin's father claimed that Jin said this to avoid shame of where he came from since Jin was told his mother died when he was born.

In a flashback, of Sun's, she went to see her father and asked his assistant if she could see him. When the assistant showed Sun to her father, she referred to him as "Mr. Paik." Sun asked her father if she could have some money and he asked her what it was for and she did not want to tell him. Earlier, in the episode via a flashback, someone blackmailed Sun, for a lot of money, in order to keep her baby's identity a secret. That was why Sun needed money from her father.

Juliet brought Sun to a place, on the island, where there was an ultrasound. Juliet informed Sun that the ultrasound would show when the date of conception was to see if Jin was the father of Sun's baby. Juliet remarked, to Sun, that she lost nine patients in the past three years and she was helping Sun since she wanted to give good news again.

All of the above characters were in the episode, "D.O.C.", except for John Locke. John was an original character and had been on the show since episode one but he did not appear in "D.O.C." Terry O'Quinn originated the role of John Locke and won a Primetime Emmy for the role in 2007. He was first nominated for a Primetime Emmy for the role of John Locke on "Lost" in 2005.

Sun had a flashback, near the end of this showing of "Lost", and she spoke to husband Jin in it. As she spoke to Jin, he saw an envelope full of money and asked Sun what she intended to do with the money. She told Jin she got the money from her father and it was for furniture and for a vacation. Jin informed Sun that he could provide for her and he would always take care of her.
