Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening scene, Nancy pulled a bag from Bubbie's bathroom cabinet. Nancy wanted to blow dry her hair. Did she find a hair dryer?

Answer: No

The silver device was sort of shaped like a hair dryer, but it didn't blow air out when Nancy turned it on. What it did do, was buzz and vibrate.
2. Who did Nancy refer to as "young botanist"?

Answer: Silas

Nancy commented that it was so great to be able to hear the ocean from the house. And, while that was probably true, Shane pointed out that what she was currently hearing was Silas watering his pot plants in the shower. Nancy went in and told Silas to find a new nursery for his plants, as she didn't want Len discovering them.
3. Just before Lenny extorted $300 from them, he called Andy and Nancy by what famous criminals' names?

Answer: Bonnie and Clyde

Nancy easily handed over the hush money, so to speak. Lenny was satisfied and went about his business- he lost it all gambling.

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Darrow were a famous criminal couple from the early 1900s. After a long manhunt, the duo was shot to death in May of 1934 in Louisiana. Many movies have been made about them, as well as many pop culture references in film and television. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were hired guns, and technically not real criminals.
4. Celia had a specific reason why she shouldn't be in jail. What did she tell her public defender was the reason?

Answer: the toilets were metal

Poor Celia, her public defender gave her false hope. When she first sat down, she told Celia she should be able to get out quickly. Then, they both realized she was describing another case. Upon a quick perusal of Celia's case, she concluded that Celia would be in jail for a long time. That is when Celia made her case about the metal toilets.

The lawyer, Maddy Shaheen, asked if Celia was related to Dean and said that he was a loser who used to hit on her in law school. Celia denied any relation to her husband.
5. Guillermo and his crew installed a bobble head Jesus inside Nancy's Prius.

Answer: True

Guillermo smashed the brake light of Nancy's car so she'd have an excuse to drive down to Tijuana. While she was there, she was to get it fixed and buy some inhalers. If she did it all correctly, she'd be paid $10,000. The bobble head was a hidden camera, and Nancy made $5000 after she experienced some issues coming back. Guillermo told her later that he and she would go over the footage like a sports post-game review the next day.
6. Lenny told his grandsons that Andy owed him $20,000. Andy revealed the reason, what was it?

Answer: he never placed a bet for his dad

Inspired by both Bubbie and Judah, Andy had taken Lenny's money as a young child and spent it on himself and Judah. Bubbie said Lenny's horse would never come in, so there was no reason to place the bet. Well, apparently Lenny would have won a trifecta that earned him $20,000 if that one bet had been placed.
7. When Isabelle visited her mom in jail, who did she bring with her?

Answer: Doug

Dean didn't want to see Celia, so he stayed downstairs and hit on Maddy Shaheen again. Isabelle and Doug reported to Celia about Doug's po'boy eating victory. It was a five foot fish po'boy at the Gumbo Junction, which I assume is a restaurant. It was free as well, because he finished it in under an hour. Quinn is Celia and Dean's long missing oldest daughter.

She was sent to boarding school in the second episode of the series and has not been mentioned at all since season one. The school was in Mexico...so she may reappear. I think Avril Lavigne would make a great Quinn, if the original actress is unavailable.
8. What was the name of Celia's cellmate?

Answer: Cheetah

Celia reported that Cheetah was planning to make Celia "her special girl". Celia sported a brand new, ethnically inspired, hairstyle. She reported to her visitors that her life was in danger, but Doug said that the townsfolk were so angry with her she was probably safer in jail.
9. During Nancy's quest to cross back into America from Mexico, a few things occurred. Which of these is NOT one of the things that happened?

Answer: she had someone refill her gas tank while in the line to cross back

Nancy wanted a Diet Coke first. The vendor didn't have one, but Nancy spotted someone else selling iced lattes. After drinking who knows how many of those, she really needed to go to the bathroom. She asked the first vendor if a bathroom was nearby, and he said there wasn't one until you crossed the border.

She did buy several items from vendors, as her car was full of toys. She bought the red guitar first, then peed in a cup while Shane was calling her, and finally was forced to be detained because she didn't bring her passport with her.

The border cops took her inhalers, and Guillermo revealed later this was all a big test to evaluate her performance.
10. At the end, Capt. Roy Till came to a bruised Celia and revealed that he was starting to believe her story about Nancy.

Answer: True

Celia had a bruised left eye and was crying when he came to her. He showed her a picture of Nancy and Guillermo taken at the border from the season four premier, and said he was starting to believe her.
