In the previous episode, Kimberly had gotten into her car to go drive off and kill herself. Michael and Megan got into Michael's car to stop her and the result was a car accident and Michael's car flipped over and crashed on the street. Kimberly got out and went to check on Michael and Megan. Megan was alright and got out of the car, immediately, but Michael was unconscious.

He survived the accident.

Since Jane was officially out of town, her apartment was vacant. Sydney decided that she would like to move in, to Jane's old apartment, and the move to Jane's apartment became official, in this episode. Prior to this, Samantha was in Jane's apartment but Sydney said she signed a lease, while Samantha did not, so the apartment was hers. Sydney stayed in Jane's apartment for the rest of the season (it was in the season five finale that Sydney died due to complications from being hit by a car).

In Jake and Allison's first scene, Jake brought her some breakfast and they started to discuss their engagement. Jake took a plate, off the table, and under the plate was Allison's engagement ring. When Allison saw it, she told Jake it was beautiful. Jake slipped the ring, on Allison's finger, and it did not fit so Jake told her he would get it resized.

Amanda told both Samantha and Sydney that Jane's old apartment now belonged to Sydney, not Samantha, since Sydney signed a lease for it. Amanda informed Samantha she was free to move in, to Sydney's old apartment, but Samantha said she was unsure if she could afford the rent. Amanda asked her if she had a job and Sydney piped in and said that Samantha was still working, at the boutique store, but she was considering cutting Samantha's hours. Samantha said it appeared as if she could now definitely not afford the rent so Amanda said it looked like Samantha would have to move.

In Kyle's first scene, he was in the kitchen, at the restaurant, and a man came in and it was Kyle's old friend, Nick. Nick told Kyle he was in town and he figured he would stop by and visit him. Taylor entered the kitchen and Kyle said Nick stopped by to have a drink. Taylor told Kyle, privately, that she wanted Nick to leave since he was a troublemaker but Kyle assured her that he would not cause trouble. Taylor agreed to let Nick have a drink at the restaurant.

Peter stopped by D&D Advertising to speak to Amanda and Amanda saw him there after she was done talking to Craig. Peter told her that he rented a condo, down by the beach, and gave her the address. Peter informed her that it was not a permanent thing since the condo was on a month to month tenancy. Right after he said this, he told Amanda that Michael was in a car accident.

While Michael was in surgery, he had a dream and he dreamed about being at the apartment complex and a hand reached out, from the pool, and grabbed his foot. Michael, then, saw Kimberly and she asked him to help her and he asked her what was happening. Right as Michael grabbed Kimberly's hand, Megan appeared and told Michael he did not belong with Kimberly.

The dream ended with Michael going to Megan.

Peter operated on Michael, due to Michael being involved in the car accident, and Matt was by his side throughout the entire operation, assisting him. At one point, Peter asked Matt to get him the scalpel and Matt gave it to him. The operation proved to be a success since Michael regained consciousness, which pleased everyone but most especially Kimberly and Megan.

In the middle of the episode, Samantha and Billy went to a restaurant, on a date, and she mentioned that they would be meeting an attorney. Samantha asked the attorney if he was still working, for a law firm, and he said he was not. Samantha asked the attorney why he did not call but he said he was embarrassed. Billy told the attorney that they needed their legal advice, since Samantha was facing eviction, so he suggested Samantha and Billy move in together.

Near the end of the episode, Samantha introduced Amanda to her lawyer and the lawyer gave Amanda a copy of the Tenants' Rights Act. He also served her with a subpoena since Amanda was being sued for retaliatory eviction against Samantha. Amanda told Samantha this could all be avoided if she stayed in the apartment and signed a lease.
