1. Which actor played Principal Reynolds in this episode?

Answer: William Atherton

Atherton, born on July 30th, 1947 in Orange, Connecticut portrayed Principal Reynolds in a guest starring stint. Principal Reynolds was the principal at a high school where Ben taught. He played the character for just this one episode of "Lost". Atherton also guest starred on the TV series', "Monk", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Numb3rs".
2. Ben Linus was seen teaching what high school subject?

Answer: History

Ben was the character featured in this episode's flash forward scenes as a high school teacher of history. There was one instance when he and another teacher, Leslie, get into a major conversation about funding cuts to the school. Ben mentioned that he did not like supervising kids who were in detention.
3. Who suggested that Ben become a principal?

Answer: John Locke

Since Ben kept complaining about some decisions that Principal Reynolds made at the high school, John Locke, who was substitute teaching that day, suggested Ben become the new principal of the high school. Ben thought that might be a good idea.

Back on the island, Ben, Sun, Ilana, Miles and Frank were seen getting away from the temple and they realized that Jacob was dead. Miles examined the ashes to determine who killed Jacob and he realized that Ben was the culprit. Ilana disliked this a lot since she was a big supporter of Jacob's.

Ilana wanted to avenge Jacob's death so she tied Ben up and told him to dig his own grave as punishment for killing Jacob. Right after this, the "Man in Black" (John Locke) came since he wanted for Ben to lead the island once he and his people left it. Locke managed to free Ben.

We saw Jack and Hurley in this episode and both of them decided it would be best if they made their way back to the temple. Hurley, however, wanted to delay their return for some time since he recalled Jacob warned him of an attack which would occur on the temple. Shortly after this, both Jack and Hurley ran into Richard Alpert in the jungle.
9. Who stated that he felt suicidal?

Answer: Richard Alpert

Richard told Jack and Hurley that he wanted to talk to them so he took them to a slave ship to chat. While there, Richard stated how he felt suicidal since he believed life was not worth living anymore with Jacob dead. He planned to kill himself using dynamite but the dynamite fuse would not work.

Jack told Richard right after the dynamite fuse failed that it was a sign of their being a reason for him and the others to be on the island. Jack then convinced both Richard and Hurley to go back to the beach where they reunited with Ilana and her people. While the reunion progressed, Charles Widmore arrived on the island via a submarine.
