"Addams Family" Quiz Part 1

Cousin Itt is very funny looking. He is composed entirely of hair on the outside. He is a little person, and only the family can understand what he is saying. Although he looks like an "it," everyone calls him a "he." In fact, Gomez and Morticia try to get Itt to marry Morticia's sister Ophelia.

Wednesday carries her doll around with her all over the house and sometimes other places. If someone asks her about it she merely replies, "This is my doll, Marie Antoinette. I chopped off her head."

During the theme song, John Astin and Carolyn Jones' names appear next to their images. Everyone else's names are printed at the end with the credits. Jackie Coogan plays Uncle Fester, and Ted Cassidy plays Lurch. Fred Gwynne plays Herman Munster on the show "The Munsters" which aired the same time as "The Addams Family".

In almost every episode, you see her feeding her plants. In other episodes, she cuts out paper dolls with two heads or three legs. In some episodes, you see her knitting mittens or sweaters for the vast number of Addams family cousins. You never see her fishing; however, she and Gomez do keep piranhas that they feed on a regular basis.

Since the show aired for two seasons, there were not that many episodes. Ted Cassidy did not want to be in the show if it was aired a long time, and people would eventually get sick of the show if it aired way too long.

Unfortunately, the show only aired for two seasons. But it became a very popular show and inspired movies, a cartoon series and another t.v. series.

Whenever people visit the Addams house, that is one of the first things they see; a foot sticking out of a fish's mouth. In an episode or two, Gomez proudly claims it was their Cousin Farouk.

Charles Addams originally was going to name him Pubert, but decided against it. The t.v. people said it wasn't quite "appropriate" enough.

In the episode "Lurch and his Harpsichord," Morticia and Gomez try to sell the harpsichord to a museum. Lurch is so unhappy he threatens to leave. When he gets the harpsichord back, he stays and everyone is happy again.

Whenever guests see their lion, Kitty Cat, they make a dash for the door and many times the Addamses never see them again. The Addamses never had a dog but they did have piranhas. And the moose they had was just its head on the wall. (Gomez also had its bottom as a clock.)

Thing helps everyone around the house frequently doing small chores for them. He even gets the mail and hands it to Morticia. She says "Thank you Thing," and takes the mail.

Since Morticia and Gomez are the main characters, they are in every single episode. The children weren't in every episode, and Uncle Fester and Grandmama missed an episode here or there. I think Lurch may have been in every episode as well, but I really don't know. (If you happen to know, please tell me.) The other actors guess starred on a lot of other shows so they probably didn't get to be on every episode, but since Morticia and Gomez were the stars they had to be.

In the episode "Morticia and the Matchmaker," Morticia tries to help her cousin Melancholia find a husband, and in "Halloween Addams Style," Cousin Cackle comes for a seance. Cousin Itt, of course is in many episodes, but Aunt Trivia is never seen. They do mention her a few times though.
