The show stars Seth MacFarlane (also the creator), Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis and Mike Henry.

Famous for its cliffhangers, "Who Shot J.R.?" mystery and the "Dream Season", where the entire season was found out to be one character's dream, CBS Dallas aired for 14 seasons. The show was originally only going to be a five-episode mini-series in 1978, but the popularity of the show extended it into thirteen more years.

In 1980, "Who Shot J.R." became a pop culture sensation after Larry Hagman was shot at the end of the season, and viewers had to wait all summer, and extra time due to the Screen Actors Guild strike. Viewers finally found out the trigger was pulled by character Kristin Shepard.
