Later on in the series, I teamed up with a sentient weapon of mass destruction to protect the world by helping my little sister destroy it. Though set in a time period similar to medieval England, my name is Irish Gaelic in origin. What is my first name?

Answer: Shannon

Shannon Casull, one of the heroes of the anime series "Scrapped Princess", is the younger brother of Raquel Casull and the older brother of Pacifica Casull (known by nicknames such as the "Scrapped Princess" and the "Providence Breaker"). He "fuses" with Zefiris, a Dragoon who appears as a girl with purple hair until she unleashes her full power and becomes a six-winged black dragon with the power to destroy the Peacekeepers, who wish to keep mankind imprisoned in a pseudo-world apart from the real world (basically a chunk of Earth floating above the real Earth... no one is aware of this except for the Peacekeepers).

The "Providence Breaker" is the one whose power, unleashed upon her death on her 16th birthday, will bring the world back to normal. I didn't ask for his last name because there are many different spellings (Casull, Kasull, Castle, Casuru, etc).

2. I serve aboard the worst ship with the worst captain... yet somehow we always seem to win every battle by running away. Though you'd never guess it, I'm bald. Of course, I hide that fact well. I'm the head of what vital department aboard the ship?

Lieutenant Katori serves as chief navigator aboard the Soyokaze in the anime series "Irresponsible Captain Tylor". He always wears a blonde wig, but we only find out its a wig in the last episode, when he's invited to serve aboard the Soyokaze again (after he resigned).

3. Because of the fact that I'm (literally) half wolf, I hate wolves. Still, the lupine part of me yearns to find Paradise, while I just want to resurrect my lover. Who am I?

Answer: Darcia

Darcia often wears a patch over his left eye, not because he's blind but because his left eye is black except for a golden iris... a wolf's eye. His right eye is human. This is from "Wolf's Rain"

4. I guess you could say I'm a pyromancer, and the symbol that guides my 'magic' is inscribed on my glove. My last name is the same as a horse, and I can be as stubborn as one. I'll do anything to get promoted, even push around a kid who's part cyborg. In what episode did I go head-to-head with this cyborg kid?

Lieutenant Colonel Roy Mustang, also known as the Flame Alchemist, is Edward Elric's superior officer from the anime series "Full Metal Alchemist". The pentagram on his glove, called a 'Transmutation Circle', is what creates the fire Roy is so famous for.

In Episode 13, "Flame vs Full Metal", Roy and Ed square off in a duel which ends in a draw when Roy freezes up, remembering a bad moment from his past.

5. When I was a child, I was always ridiculed by my cousins. Now, I'm the family doctor... even though I'm half-blind in my left eye. What name from the anime "Yu-Gi-Oh!" could also be used as another name for who -or rather what- I am?

Answer: Kaiba

"Kaiba" is Japanese for "Seahorse", which is the animal form of Hatori Sohma from "Fruits Basket". Since he is a Sohma, he will become an animal if hugged by a member of the opposite gender. He's supposed to be a dragon, since his family becomes the animals of the Chinese Zodiac, but ends up being a seahorse instead. Shigure Sohma, his cousin, loves teasing him about that fact.

His eye injury came about when he was punished by Akito Sohma, the head of his clan, for falling in love and allowing the Sohma family secret to be discovered by a "normal" girl. Hatori's girlfriend, Kana, blamed herself for his injury and decided it would be better had they never have met. To grant her wish, Hatori used his mental powers to erase her memory. He never got over her loss.

6. From a manga rather than an anime, I am an antisocial teacher who actually wants to blow up the school where I teach. I love hamsters, and that's where I got my Internet handle from. As a matter of fact, what is my chat room name?

Answer: Jangalian

Reichi Katano, Biology teacher, is one of the conspirators of the manga series "X-Day". He loves cute things, especially hamsters. Jangalian is a breed of hamsters.

7. As the title character in the anime I'm from, I see quite a bit of action. I resemble another key character's brother, though sadly her brother is dead. My name can even be treated as an anagram of his name. In the dubbed version, what is the first word I say out loud?

Answer: Idiot

From "Betterman", Lamia (aka Betterman) very closely resembles Hinoki's brother, Mario, and even has some of Mario's memories. As such, he always rescues her. He usually speaks using telepathy, but spoke aloud once to Hinoki, in Mario's voice. He called her an idiot, and that was the only time Betterman ever spoke aloud. Lamia's name can be an anagram of Mario's like this: since the L and R are interchangeable in the Japanese language, Lamia could be Ramia. With this new spelling, the pronunciation could be the same using a short O sound instead of the first A.

This would make the name Romia, and would be pronounced the same as the original name. Rearranging the letters in this name would spell out the name Mario.

8. Though I found it disgraceful for some of my kind to partner up with humans, I realized that it did grant them a unique power. That power came in handy when fighting the ultimate enemy of my kind, whose goal was to destroy us because we had evolved so far. I am one of four protectors of my world, and I also resemble one of the four protectors of Japan. From where does my Earth-based counterpart guard?

Answer: South

This character is Ebonwumon, from "Digimon Tamers". He is a Phoenix, and one of the four Digimon Gods. The other three are Azulongmon, Baihumon, and Xuanwumon. Together, they resemble the four protectors of Japan: Suzaku the Phoenix, Seiryu the Blue Dragon, Byakko the White Tiger, and Genbu the Tortoise.

These names are also mentioned in "Fushigi Yuugi", and "Yu Yu Hakusho". Suzaku guards from the South, Seiryu from the East, Byakko from the West, and Genbu from the North.

9. I'm a cowardly bird who happens to have a weak spot for pretty girls. However, I'm always willing to help my master anytime by turning myself into a gun. What was written on the egg I hatched from?

Answer: Kir

From "King of Bandits Jing", Kir is an obnoxious talking bird that can become a weapon known as the "Kir Royale". He helps Jing escape from the prison known as Seventh Heaven, where the security system is a person who can control dreams.

10. Until I met my friends, I was a gloomy, antisocial person (I still kind of am). I never invite anyone over to my house, for the simple reason that as soon as they step in the door, they'll be shot at with an arrow. The main character said she'd never be safe with me, mostly because she believes I'm likely to do what at any time?

Answer: Commit suicide

Kazufumi Kobayashi from "Tenshi na Konamaiki (A Cheeky Angel)" is often rather shy, even though he is training to become a warrior. He does, however, have great reflexes and (usually) remains calm under pressure. Megumi Amatsuka, the "cheeky angel" and main character, said she'd never feel safe alone with him, because she believed he was "likely to commit seppuku at any time". Seppuku is a ritualistic form of suicide that samurai used to practice.
