Answer: 1955 Lincoln Futura

The Batmobile was designed by George Barris, "The King of the Kustomizers"! The design was based on the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car shown at the Chicago Auto Show.
2. On which television network was "Batman" originally shown in the USA?

Answer: ABC

ABC bombarded TV viewers with promos for the show. They even went so far as to hire a skywriter to write "Batman Is Coming" above the Rose Bowl game.
3. What veteran TV producer was responsible for bringing the "Caped Crusader" to life?

Answer: William Dozier

Dozier had been involved with many other popular TV programs such as "Dennis the Menace" and "Bewitched".
4. What was a unique feature about the series during the first and second seasons?

Answer: There were two new episodes per week.

The first episode (on Wednesday night) always ended in some sort of cliffhanger, which was resolved at the beginning of the second episode (on Thursday night). During the third season, only one episode was aired per week.
5. "Batman" was a top-ten show during its first season.

Answer: True

During the first season, "Batman" was #10 on Wednesdays and #5 on Thursdays!
6. Who played the role of "Batman/Bruce Wayne"?

Answer: Adam West

Before taking the role of Batman, Adam West was Robert Taylor's co-star on "The Detectives".
7. What actor was originally cast as Batman, and even filmed a test reel?

Answer: Lyle Waggoner

Waggoner later starred on "Wonder Woman".
8. Burt Ward was actually a black belt in martial arts when he accepted the role of Robin.

Answer: True

Burt actually lived in the same building as Bruce Lee and sparred with him on many occasions! Accounts differ on whether the black belt was in Taekwondo or Karate.
9. What was Burt Ward's occupation just before he starred on "Batman"?

Answer: Real estate agent

Burt sold real estate on weekends while attending film school at UCLA.
10. Which one of these was NOT a vehicle that Batman and Robin used at some point during the show?

Answer: batplane

The Batplane was never used in the series. It would have cost too much to build and fly.
11. Who was the Special Guest Villain on the very first episode?

Answer: The Riddler

In the first episode, The Riddler, played by Frank Gorshin, planned to sue Batman and Robin for false arrest.
12. The "Batman" TV series had very little to do with Batman comic book lore, but in the first episode, Bruce Wayne briefly mentions something from his history. What is it?

Answer: The murder of his parents.

There are very few other references. In episode #3, Bruce mentions an umbrella owned by his late father. In episode #82 he mentions the murder of his parents by "dastardly criminals", and in episode #4 Commissioner Gordon explains the origin of the bat costume.

Answer: Jill St. John

14. Was Mickey Rooney offered the role of the Penguin?

Answer: Yes

Burgess Meredith won the role and made it famous! It's said that Spencer Tracey was also offered the role, and he turned it down as well.
