This is the opening scene, after he has been introduced as being like Ebenezer Scrooge, you hear 'Humbug, humbug' from off stage, he then enters, proffers a sweet bag and says 'Humbug, Mr Baldrick?'

2. In 1485, who came up with the name "The Black Adder"?

Answer: Baldrick

I'm not so keen on the first series, Blackadder is too stupid and Baldrick is too intellegent, but I thought I'd better put a question in anyway.

3. Series II: Where did Blackadder and crew set sail from?

Answer: Tilbury

Blackadder, Baldrick, Percy and Captain Redbeard Rum were all on board.

4. Series III: When Blackadder became a Highwayman, who did he hold up?

Answer: Duke of Cheapside

'Ah, good evening, Duke, and the lovely Miss Chapside, your cashbags, please.' This was in 'Amy & Amiability', one of my favourite episodes.

5. Series IV: What was Melchett's nickname for 'Georgina' aka. George?

Answer: Chipmunk

He thought 'her' nose looked like a chipmunk's. Lucky he never found out that she was, in fact, 'a strapping six footer from the rough end of the trench.'

6. In 1648, Cromwell asked Baldrick for a drink, what was it?

Answer: Milk

This was in 'The Cavalier Years.'

7. What was the name of the dog that played baby Jesus in the Christmas nativity play?

Answer: Spot

The baby who was originally going to play him died at the last minute. The sheep were dogs as well, which caused some problems.

8. Series IV again: Who was Darling planning to marry after the war?

Answer: Doris

Fat chance.

9. An actress was at school with Ben Elton, and she played Bob in Series II, 'Bells', and Series IV, 'Major Star'. What was her name?

Answer: Gabrielle Glaister

All the others starred in the episode 'Bells'. Miranda Richardson as Queenie, Barbara Miller as the Wise Woman and Sadie Shimmin as the Young Crone. Barbara Miller also appeared a lot in the first series, and 'A Christmas Carol' as the granny.

10. And to Series II for the final question: In 'Head', what was the occupation of Ploppy the gaoler's father?

Answer: Slopper
