Giles says something about there being high demonic activity in Cleveland. Also, in the episode "Empty Places" Clem ironically tell Buffy as he's leaving town that she should go somewhere safe, like Cleveland. This episode is really neat, when the town gets thrust into the alternate demention there are so many little things that are different, like Giles' glasses, they're the same big ones he had in seasons 1 and 2.

However in "Chosen" he says "The Earth is definetely doomed." "Chosen", being the last episode has many references to previous episodes. This is also the episode where we find out why The First tormented Angel and Spike. Pretty much it was because they were both destined to wear the amulet which ultimately detroyed the Hellmouth.

Buffy of course said this in the season five finale "The Gift" before she died.

In both these episodes Spike is referred to being a son or like a son to Giles. Tabula Rasa is Latin for blank slate.

Of course we see this in one of the flashbacks as William The Bloody is writing some of his poetry for Cecily. In this episode Cecily is credited as Cecily Addams, however, later in the season 7 episode "Lies My Parents Told Me" in a flashback Spike's mother refers to her as the Underwood's daughter.

This is the episode in which Angelus kills Jenny. It's been said that Oz was originally supposed to be killed off but he was too well liked. There's a really moving scene in this episode which is when Giles calls Buffy and informs her and Willow of Jenny's death. One of the reasons this scene seems so real and moving, other than great acting, is that they connected a landline to the phone so that Giles could actually talk to Buffy and Willow over the phone, even if the audience couldn't hear him.

This of course relates back to "Once More, With Feeling" when Buffy sang this as the opening song. If you watch carefully you can see when Buffy is typing "all work and no play make Doris a dull girl" that she presses a few letters that don't appear at all in that sentence.

She says this when she hears Joyce's voice on the radio. In this episode we also see Buffy and Holden Webster discussing Buffy's sort of ex-boyfriend Scott Hope. Holden says that Scott said Buffy was gay after they broke up and then ended up coming out a few years later. I'm not sure if this is what they were referring to but around this time Fab Filippo (Scott) was appearing on Queer As Folk as a homosexual character.

This episode marks the first appearance of Halfrek, Anya's vengeance demon friend, in her human form. Kali Rocha, who plays Halfrek has earlier been seen on "Buffy" as Spike's old love interest, Cecily. Spike and Halfrek have a little moment of recognition, however I'm still not sure if this is just a joke at the fact that it's the same actress or if Hallie is supposed to be Cecily after she's taken up the vengeance demon life.

She says this once in her dream and then again after she almost kisses Riley. The song the little girl sings at the beginning has the same tune as "Master of the House" from Les Miserables. Also, Buffy's scream at the end is not her own voice, she couldn't hold the scream for that long.
