quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As most "Simpson's" episodes, this one begins a couch gag. What can be seen in the opening sequence?

Answer: Real hands flipping a book with drawings of The Simpsons

This episode does not include Bart writing something on the board, and instead begins directly with the couch gag. Human hands can be seen flipping a pencil-drawn notebook with the Simpson family sitting down on the couch. This couch gag had previously appeared in the fourteenth episode of season 13, "Tales from the Public Domain".
2. Homer walks in on Bart and Lisa while they are watching "The Itchy and Scratchy Show". Which festive day does Homer tell the kids he will be celebrating with Marge?

Answer: Valentine's Day

The episode of "Itchy and Scratchy" Bart and Lisa were watching, titled "Bleeder of the Pack", shows how Itchy, the mouse, tricks Scratchy, the cat and acting as a policeman, into dying in a violent way, basically like in every other episode of this show, which drives Bart and Lisa to laughter.

Itchy ends up in a plane with "Big Bopper", Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly, all of which who died in a plane crash in 1959. Homer then walks in and tells the kids that since it's Valentine's Day, they would have to stay downstairs all day long with the T.V. volume turned all the way up.
3. At the bedroom, Homer does very romantic stuff, such as throwing rose petals in the bed, so he and Marge could have sex. However, Marge feels too tired, and Homer plays his "special remix" so she feels like having sex, but plays a children's lullaby instead of what he had planned. Which song, that Homer originally wanted to play, is danced by Maggie in the middle of the night?

Answer: "Sex Bomb" by Tom Jones and Mousse T

Marge takes a bubble bath and some champagne to relax, while Homer fills the room in rose petals. When Marge gets to bed, Homer tries to seduce her, but she says she is too tired to have sex. Seeing this, Homer plays his "special remix" to try and get her to wake up, but instead, he plays a lullaby! Apparently, he confused the cassettes with Maggie's, which is why we see her dancing to "Sex Bomb", song that at one point reached the number 11 position in the "Hot Dance Club Play" US Billboard.
4. Saddened, Homer decides to take a night walk, to think about why Marge didn't want to have sex with him. As he walks down the street, Homer reads three different signs. Which of these is NOT one of them?

Answer: Hire a marriage counselor now, only $299!

Homer thinks everyone is having fun on Valentine's Day but him, since he sees two cats forming the shape of a heart with their tails, Professor Frink with a robot, clouds shaped as two people kissing, a plane reaching its wing to another plane, and even the shadow of two people kissing in the penitentiary. This last image was a mistake by Homer, since what really is happening is Snake choking another prisoner.

While Homer walks down the street, he sees a sign labeled: "Suicide Hotline, call 1-555-NO-KILL-U". Almost immediately, he sees another one that says "Feeling unattractive? Lose weight at CHUB MED", although Homer prefers the suicide option! Finally, he sees a sign that reads "Find the answers to your problems... at Springfield Extension School", and Homer thanks advertisements for saving his marriage.
5. Homer goes to Springfield Extension School in search for something that will help him get Marge back, and finds a class called "strip for your wife". Who is the teacher?

Answer: Dr. Hibbert

Homer is a bit surprised that Dr. Hibbert is the teacher. When Homer asks him if he is in fact the teacher, Dr. Hibbert laughs and says he paid his college with money he made from stripping, under the pseudonym of "Malcolm Sex", a reference to civil rights leader Malcolm X. Before Dr. Hibbert can start the class, Homer covers himself with oil, and finishes it although it was for the whole class. Dr. Hibbert gives him a coin and tells him to call his mother, since he will never be a stripper.

A saddened, oily Homer exits the room skating, but he slips with the oil and falls, landing in a class called "Successmanship 101".
6. In "Succesmanship 101", the teacher shows the class his gem-filled watch and his Bentley, and says that only he and another famous movie director got the car before the person who made the cars was killed. Who was this other person, known for "Jaws" and "E.T."?

Answer: Steven Spielberg

The teacher refers to Homer as the "greasy, naked bald guy", and Homer hilariously replies "he knows everything about me!" Subsequently, the teacher says that life isn't really hard, and then throws Hans Moleman out the window. After that, he shows Homer his watch full of gems (while Homer's wrist has a fake watch drawn with a marker), and his Bentley, a car that only Steven Spielberg, the award-winning director of films like "Jaws", "Indiana Jones" and "E.T.", and him have as the maker of those cars was killed after he completed those two cars.

He then hands out his book, "Megatronics", to the class, a book filled with advice to be successful in the corporate world.
7. Homer follows the advice he finds in the "Megatronics" book, in order to start being successful. One of them says that he should make his workplace enjoyable, so he replaces his "Swedish Bikini Team" poster with what?

Answer: Swedish Efficiency Team

The book advises Homer to live every day as if it were the last, so he starts crying about how young he is to die. Then, when he gets home, he applies the advice of not letting get in his way for success by telling Bart to do his homework, Lisa to do less homework, and Maggie to start talking.

The next morning, Homer gets to work and replaces his "Swedish Bikini Team" poster with another one that reads "Swedish Efficiency Team". Then, he proceeds to make a list of everything that's wrong in the Nuclear Plant and hands it to Mr. Burns, who doesn't care about Homer's initiative.
8. Mad at Mr. Burns because he didn't recognize his efforts, Homer plans his revenge against Burns. He overhears his boss talking to Smithers about how he would be jailed if the government found out he threw nuclear waste in Lego Land. However, Burns is not worried, since the owner of the plant is a bird, and it would go to jail should the government inspect the plant. Which type of bird owns the plant?

Answer: A canary

As it turns out, Mr. Burns was "smart enough" to put someone else's name as the owner of the plant, Canary Montgomery Burns, a canary! Burns figured out that with the bird as the legitimate owner of the plant, any legal problems would have to be consulted with the owner, that is, the canary.

At night, Homer and Bart release the bird from its cage. Bart tells the bird to fly to the Canary Islands, and because of this, the canary flies back into the nuclear plant, checks a globe to remember where the Canary Islands are, and flies away!
9. The next morning, Mr. Burns is anguished by the fact that his scapegoat, the bird, is gone. Homer enters his office and tells Burns that government inspectors are in the plant, and as a result, Burns transfers the plant's ownership to Homer. What is the first thing Homer does as the owner of the plant?

Answer: Fire Mr. Burns

After Burns transfers ownership to Homer, he understands he was tricked into giving up the plant. Homer fires Mr. Burns and throws him from the balcony, where he is then hopped into a taxi cab by his former employees. Homer announces that Burns' "reign of terror" is over, and strives to respect the working class.
10. Homer's new job as head of the plant proves to be very demanding, as he has no time for family or friends anymore. Meanwhile, Mr. Burns and his assistant, Smithers, travel to Marrakesh to build a new life. Where is Marrakesh located?

Answer: Morocco

Mr. Burns and Smithers go to Marrakesh, Morocco, since Burns has been "forced into retirement". Burns asks Smithers to get some drugs, and Smithers buys opium, which ends up in him being jailed. Back in Springfield, Homer finds the job of head of the nuclear plant very hard, as he barely gets to see his family and has to fire his friends. Burns returns to Springfield and takes Homer to a cemetery, where he tells him about how he lost all of his friends and family because of paying too much attention to work.

He then shoots Homer with a tranquilizer, and intends to bury him in a giant mausoleum. However, Burns takes a lot of time assembling a few bricks, and Homer tells him not to bother, as he will return the plant to Mr. Burns.
