Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What type of vehicle hits and kills Margo Trent?

Answer: Delivery truck

Both the driver and Dr. Hawkes easily confirm that Margo died when the truck hit her. Margo was running down an alleyway before she was struck solely wearing a lace outfit. She has no shoes or purse on her. At the crime scene, Mac and Stella note that the victim had bruises around her wrists as well as a cut on her face. Mac also noted that the driver was just leaving his last delivery and was driving out at only 20 miles per hour. Hawkes surveys the damage and shows Stella a few extra things. One, the victim has traces of semen on her leg. Hawkes runs a sexual assault test to send to Flack. Second, a hand stamp from a bar is evident on her hand. Third, there are puncture wounds on Margo's feet that are not related to her death.
2. The victim in Yankee Stadium, Gilbert Novotny, supports which team?

Answer: Boston

Stella is called to another case along with Danny and Aiden. This case involves a man who has been dead in is car in the parking lot of Yankee Stadium. The man, named Gilbert, had tickets for the last game, Boston vs. New York. Danny finds a game ball in Gilbert's front seat indicating that he caught a foul.

There is also a brown hair on the ball that is taken to the lab. Stella notices dried blood in Gilbert's nose and when they inspect his seats they find more drops. They figure that he was elbowed in the face after catching the foul.
3. What weapon was used in the case against Quinn Sullivan two days prior to his call to Mac?

Answer: A hammer

In the midst of the two cases, Mac gets a call from Quinn Sullivan, a man who two days ago, Mac spoke against in court. Using a hammer from a crime scene, Mac found both victim and suspect DNA that led to the idea that Quinn killed a woman named Alissa Danville. Before Mac can get any more info from Sullivan, he is forced to hang up. Mac is forced to reconsider the evidence from the case.
4. What type of food was found in Gilbert Novotny's hair?

Answer: Crackerjacks

In the autopsy room, Hawkes tells Stella and Danny that Gilbert died of a ruptured spleen. This is following a blow to the ribs (breaking one). He gives Danny a brown substance found in the victim's hair, which turns out to be Crackerjacks. Aiden knows that Crackerjacks are sometimes spit at people that the crowd doesn't like, and a Boston fan in New York is a prime example. Aiden also gets a fingerprint off of their game ball.
5. Where did Margo Trent puncture her feet?

Answer: At her apartment

After investigating the hair on Novotny's game ball, the CSIs find that it's Margo Trent's hair, and that the two cases are connected. They find footage of the foul ball being caught, and Novotny accidentally catches Margo's hair when he catches the ball over her head. Danny and Mac check Margo's apartment and find her bathroom door busted down. Out her bathroom window are spikes used to keep the birds off the windowsill. Margo climbed out her window and punctured her feet on these.
6. What is the name of the bar that Margo Trent visited the night before her death?

Answer: Bixby's Bar and Grill

Using the stamp from Margo's hand and a photo analysis, Stella reconstructs the image on the stamp and discovers that Ms. Trent visited Bixby's. Stella talks to a man named Bryce, who was with Margo at Bixby's he claims that he didn't go to her apartment, and his wife can support this though he claims to have had sex with Margo in the bathroom at Bixby's. Meanwhile, Aiden and Danny find that Novotny got his ticket from a radio show.

They head to the station and find this is true before they get a call telling them that a man named Anthony Reanetti was the man behind the Crackerjacks.
7. The murder weapon from the Alissa Danville case was owned by Quinn.

Answer: True

Mac returns to this case for closure and he starts by talking to Quinn. Quinn finally admits to owning the hammer from the crime scene, and it changes the whole case. The victim's blood could have covered Sullivan's already placed DNA.
Meanwhile, Tony Reanetti is interrogated. He claims that he ran from the CSIs because he thought they were there based on his parole. He also claims to have been thrown out of the stadium for spitting Crackerjacks. Meanwhile, Hawkes discovers that Novotny was killed by a fastball thrown less than fifty meters away from him.
8. How fast did the baseball in Margo's apartment need to travel to break through her door?

Answer: 94 MPH

Mac and Danny spend some time with a radar gun throwing baseballs at a door to find how fast it needed to travel to break through. When this proves unsuccessful, Stella brings out the pitching machine and they clock the breaking ball at 94 MPH. Meanwhile, Mac is also back to the Danville case.

He separates the epithelial tissue from the blood cells on the hammer and proves that it was not Sullivan's blood on the hammer.
9. Who killed both Margo Trent and Gilbert Novotny?

Answer: None of these

Using the footage from the game, the CSIs realize that there was a man seated between Margo and Gilbert at the game, though he was at the concession stand during the fly ball. Ruben Derosa is brought in for an interrogation. Margo Trent was interested in him as a client, so they were at the game together.

He was also very angry during the game because Gilbert was having the Crackerjacks spit at him the whole time. After catching the foul, Novotny ended up kissing Ruben in happiness, so Ruben threw a fast ball at Novotny's stomach, which later led to his death. Later that evening, Ruben wouldn't give in to Margo's advances, so she accused him of liking men (infuriating him because of the earlier kiss).

He hit her and she ran into the bathroom and out the window, but he threw a fastball through her bathroom door.
10. Is Quinn Sullivan found guilty of murdering Alissa Danville?

Answer: No

After the retesting of the blood on the murder weapon, Mac is able to find that Quinn Sullivan's blood was not present. Because of this, Sullivan couldn't be convicted due to reasonable doubt. After Sullivan was released, Mac said that he normally doesn't have a bias in cases because the evidence will prove who's right in the end, but this time was difference.

The evidence still proved right, but Mac wanted to side with Sullivan because he liked the possibility of changing everything.
