"CSI: NY" - "The Fall" Trivia Quiz

Answer: A lighter

In the first case, Mac and Stella investigate the murder of a wine shop owner who was shot by a gang of robbers. Although they took his money, they shot him and a bunch of wine bottles anyways before fleeing the crime scene. Meanwhile, Flack reconnects with his old mentor, Sgt. Moran, who was at the crime scene as well.

They both find the two guns in separate dumpsters in different alleys while Mac and Stella find prints on a lighter left behind at the crime scene.

Answer: Canopies

At the second crime scene, Danny, Aiden, and Hawkes are called to investigate the murder of a man who fell from his apartment onto a canopy on the street below. Danny makes a note that the man fell on a canopy and not an awning because awnings cover windows. Aiden is first to discover that the body is Melvin Heckman, a famous movie producer.

There is also a smudge and blood on the victim's face. In the apartment upstairs, Danny talks to a group of people. Melvin's wife says that she never noticed her husband leave while Aiden tries to get a print off the balcony door handle.

Unfortunately, there are none.

Answer: Hector

While playing back the surveillance tapes, Mac and Stella hear the murderers say the name Hector before shooting out the camera. Before this, Stella finds that the guns match the ones used at the murder, but she doesn't find any prints. Also, Mac determines a connection with the 'Crazy Aces' gang and the print on the lighter come back to Luis Accosta, a member of the gang.

Unfortunately, they can't determine if he dropped the lighter on the video. When they see Hector's soda can in the surveillance video, they return the the wine store to get it for evidence.

Answer: Blue

While finding this fiber, Aiden discovers blood on a nearby ledge. This leads them to believe that Hackman hit his head on the ledge on the way down (explaining the blood on the forehead).
meanwhile, Mac, Danny and Moran head to a Crazy Ace hideout and test both Luis Accosta and Tony Perez for gunshot residue, but they both come up negative. They also claim that they don't know anybody named Hector.

Answer: Soda Can

Although Mac and Stella went back to retrieve the can for DNA evidence, they couldn't find it. Flack decides to ask his pal Moran if he wrote it down or saw it since he was the first at the scene, but Moran gets fussy when Danny asks him for his memo book.
Meanwhile, Danny and Hawkes discuss the victim in their case. Melvin had a low blood alcohol level and a modest amount of food in his stomach due to the party. Hawkes also finds a fragrance on Melvin's hand that Danny takes to the lab. Aiden identifies the smudge on the victim's body as salmon oil.

Answer: Suspicion

Although this womens fragrance was found on Melvin's hand, his wife was never wearing a perfume. When they find a partial print on the victim's jacket, they return to the crime scene and talk to the partiers. One woman named Gwen tests positive for the fragrance but she explains that Melvin grabbed her wrist and fired her at the party after she gained weight in a role where she was supposed to be dying.

The print from the jacket leads the CSIs to a man named Brent who claimed he was begging Melvin over his next movie.

Answer: Flack

When Flack asks Stella to run a short test on Moran's notebook, she finds that he scribbled out a part saying 'Hector, soda can, scar, right cheek'. Flack goes back to the crime scene and finds that Sgt. Moran, his old mentor, hid the soda can in a trash bin across the street.

When Jane Parsons tests the can's DNA, it reveals that Moran is Hector's father. While Flack searches for the mother, Mac talks to Moran and explains the situation.

Answer: Candy

After finding a shoeprint on the victim's body, Aiden researches a bit and finds that Melvin was kicked and bruised by a size 7 stiletto heel. This brings them back to Melvin's wife. At the apartment, she confirms that she kicked him, but to save his life. Melvin was two hundred pounds overweight with high cholesterol, so she forbade him from eating candy.

When he tried to sneak a truffle, she caught him and kicked him in the behind as a lesson. On the other case, Flack investigates Moran's finances and discovers that he's been making cheques to a Blanca Vasquez for many years. Blanca says that Hector was going to Atlanta and that he left a message on her answering machine, so they take it along.

Answer: In a gargoyle's mouth

Aiden and Danny discover that eating the chocolate was one of the last things that Melvin may have done due to Hawkes' autopsy. They return to the balcony and find a candy wrapper in a nearby robins nest that Aiden spotted earlier. When they look around they find chocolate in a nearby gargoyle's mouth. Melvin fell to his death in an attempt to get chocolate past his wife. Due to the alcohol that he drank, he was careless and the balcony railing buckled under his weight.

Answer: Perez

In Mac and Stella's case they check Blanca's answering machine, and they discover Hector was calling from Brooklyn, so they use Blanca's past to determine that he's at a warehouse. Here they catch Hector and bring him to the station. At the station, Hector says that Perez shot the wine store owner because he chickened out. When Mac and Flack locate Perez, they take his gun and jacket. Stella manages to match the samples from his jacket to a type of chardonnay sold at the wine store that he held up. Because of this, Perez is sent to prison while Hector is let go.

In the end, Flack takes Moran home so that he can explain the situation to his wife. Moran has to hand in his badge for tampering with evidence.
