Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who birthday was being celebrated on board The Titanic?

Answer: Alexis

Alexis was celebrating her sixth birthday aboard the ill fated vessel. As the ship was sinking the Winfields' maid Brigette got scared and ran off. Alexis went after her and for a while Edwina thought the worst of her sister.
2. Following the deaths of the elder Winfields, who took over the newspaper?

Answer: Edwina

The eldest Edwina took over temporarily until George was old enough, but the paper was soon foundering under George's staff. Edwina finally agreed to sell the newspaper after getting advice from family friend Ben.
3. George wanted to go to a play but Edwina insisted on his doing his homework. George commented that he hated what subject?

Answer: Math

George's grades in math were dropping, but he wanted to go to a play and take Edwina with him. Edwina told him that his grades were far more important than a play.
4. The first time that Lexi ran away, where did she go to, trying to find her mother?

Answer: Train station

Lexi talked to George more than Edwina. George told her Lexi believed that the train could take her to her mother. Edwina saw a dazed Lexi standing right on the train tracks as a train was coming. Edwina saved her just in the nick of time.
5. Who played an older version of Teddy?

Answer: Hayden Christianson

I had no idea until years later I saw the credits rolling and saw his name listed as having played Theodore 'Teddy' Winfield. Hayden Christianson of course played Anakin Skywalker in "Episodes II and III". As a "Star Wars" fan I always thought it was so cool for the crew of "Episode III" to make a Darth Vader suit for him and not someone else.
6. After George and Helen's engagement, the family went to the Horowitz family home. Edwina commented she was looking for a house, not a what?

Answer: Palace

Edwina and Teddy arrived at the Horowitz house in the country. When they arrived at the house, Sam Horowitz asked is she had trouble finding the place. Edwina: "I was looking for a house not a palace."
7. Who was Alexis involved with, much to her family's chagrin?

Answer: Malcolm Stone

Alexis was at least 40 years younger than Malcolm Stone, who claimed to idolize her. But he drugged her, gave her a black eye and spirited her out of the country.
8. George's father-in-law, Sam Horowitz, had what profession?

Answer: Director

Sam Horowitz was in the Broadway play business and George was his stage manager.
9. Where did Alexis' boyfriend spirit her to?

Answer: England

For obvious reasons, the Winfield weren't keen on getting a boat. George and Helen honeymooned in Canada and Edwina stuck to her cabin while going to rescue Alexis. On their journey to England, Malcolm gave Alexis drugs because she was so hysterical.
10. Whom did Edwina finally fall for at the end?

Answer: Sam Horowitz

Edwina was engaged to Charles Fitzgerald who died during the Titanic disaster and had an ultra brief fling with Patrick Kelly in England while searching for Alexis. Ben Parker had wanted to marry her in order to help her with the children, but Edwina wasn't ready to be married considering she lost her fiance on The Titanic. Finally, she fell for Helen's father Sam Horowitz much to the delight of their family.
