Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Tigatron and Cheetor have nicknames for each other that they use through the series. What are their respective nicknames (Cheetor/Tigatron)?

Answer: Little Cat/Big Cat

When referring to each other, Cheetor and Tigatron usually use the names Little Cat and Big Cat. Rattrap used the nicknames Spots and Stripes on various occasions, and Cheetor sometimes referred to himself as Fast Cat. Tigatron prided himself on his hunting and stalking abilities, and was much more effective in the wild than in a base.
2. Who was the first transformer to reach the stasis pod after it crashed?

Answer: Rhinox

The first transformer to notice the pod was Tarantulas, using the scanners at the Predacon base. Megatron ordered that Blackarachnia and Scorponok, the two closest Predacons, head for the pod, and put Waspinator and Terrorsaur on alert for any Maximals. Tarantulas wanted to go to the pod as well, but Megatron denied permission. Tarantulas actually had an ulterior motive for wanting the pod that would be revealed later.

Rhinox was the first Maximal to see the pod as he was scouting a field of unstable, unusable Energon. He couldn't contact his teammates for help, so he made his way to the pod on his own.

Cheetor was the last to see the pod before it crashed (and second to reach it), and was far enough away that he could radio Tigatron. He told Tigatron to call for reinforcements and to then head for the pod's position. It can be assumed that this was done, but that the rest of the Maximals were too far away to help in a timely manner.
3. Why were the Maximals unable to call for help near the stasis pod's crash site?

Answer: Energon interference was jamming the comlink frequencies.

The stasis pod landed in Predacon territory that was rich in Energon. Unfortunately, the Energon was unstable, and couldn't be mined, so the Predacon's left it alone. The Energon radiation, caused by the large store of underground Energon in the area, was the bane of the transformers' existence. It scrambled comlinks, and could erode a transformer's spark. It was the reason the transformers needed Energon-resistant beast modes in the first place. Prolonged exposure to the radiation in robot mode would induce stasis lock.

When at the pod, Rhinox diverted power from his weapons systems to his field dampers to allow him to work on the pod in robot mode (his rhinoceros mode was not very effective when handling delicate electronics). This allowed Rhinox to work much longer in robot mode, but left him defenseless if the Predacons attacked.
4. Did Tigatron make it to the pod?

Answer: No

As Tigatron was heading for the pod he ran into Scorponok. As Scorponok tried to transform, Tigatron froze him in place. This allowed Blackarachnia to get the jump on Tigatron, and hit him with her cyber venom, taking him out of the race to the pod. This was one of the few times that an enemy was able to surprise Tigatron.
5. Which of the following was not a problem the Maximals had to face when saving the protoform in the pod?

Answer: The Predacons were trying to destroy the protoform to prevent the Maximals from having superior numbers.

When the stasis pod was in orbit, it was knocked to Earth by asteroids, damaging the circuitry and hatch seals. The damaged locking chip prevented the protoform from entering stasis lock, which should have reduced the rate at which the protoform deteriorated. Also, the programming of the pod had been damaged, which rendered the DNA scanners inoperative. The pod could not scan for an animal whose form could serve as a beast mode. The last problem was that the pod crashed in a barren wasteland, and no animals could be found in the immediate area.

The Predacons were not trying to destroy the pod. They were trying to reach the pod in order to reprogram the protoform into a new Predacon.

Rhinox was able to download the DNA scanner's program from his own CPU, which drained his energy. Rhinox was weakened and had to revert to beast mode, utterly defenseless.
6. In order to restore stasis lock and reduce the rate at which the protoform was dying, the pod's locking chip had to be replaced. Luckily, all transformers have a locking chip of their own. Which transformer donated his locking chip?

Answer: Cheetor

In order to buy some time, the locking chip in the pod needed to be replaced. All transformers have a locking chip on them, and can survive for a short time without them. Cheetor reasoned that Rhinox knew what he was doing better, and so Cheetor decided to donate his own chip. During the process Cheetor had to go offline, where, in his mind, Rhinox explained the concept of a spark (the first explanation of a spark in the transformers universe).
7. Cheetor was tasked with making sure that the Predacons did not make it to the stasis pod. The first Predacon he neutralized was Blackarachnia. How did he finally pull this off?

Answer: He hit her with her own cyber venom.

Cheetor's first attempt to get rid of Blackarachnia involved crushing her under a few large rocks, but they proved ineffective. He then endured a severe beating from the spider and her martial arts abilities. When he had finally been pushed to the ground, he raised his hands in defeat, but Blackarachnia still tried to stick him with a cyber venom bolt. Cheetor, with his Cheetah-fast reflexes, caught the bolt and hurled it back into Blackarachnia's face.

Unfortunately for Cheetor, Terrorsaur and Waspinator showed up right then from different angles, and Cheetor had absorbed a lot of radiation. He reverted to beast mode to gain superior speed and to lead the Predacons away from the pod.
8. The next Predacon to be neutralized was done so by being hit by an Energon geyser. Who was this?

Answer: Waspinator

Cheetor led Waspinator and Terrorsaur away from Rhinox and the pod, but the fliers split up again, with Waspinator right behind Cheetor, firing his grenade launcher the whole way. Cheetor jumped over an Energon geyser that was about to blow, and Waspinator was caught in the surge of energy as he flew over it, shorting out his circuits and putting him in stasis lock. Terrorsaur then ambushed Cheetor, and took him out with one blast.
9. Who did the new transformer slag right after coming online?

Answer: Terrorsaur

Terrorsaur landed at the pod to find an incapacitated Rhinox, and was moving to reprogram the pod when a peregrine falcon flew overhead. The DNA scanners came online and the new transformer had a beast mode. She shot out of the pod and instinctively raced to save Rhinox from Terrorsaur.

The two combatants were both fliers and dueled in the air. After transforming, the new transformer's agility and dexterity were taken to new heights when she dodged all of Terrorsaur's blasts and then quickly tore him to pieces with her wrist mounted weapons.
10. What was the name of the new transformer to enter the Beast Wars?

Answer: Airazor

Airazor was the new Maximal, and was the thirteenth transformer to enter the Beast Wars. She was also the second female (after Blackarachnia) and the second flier to join the Maximals (after Optimus). After being "born" on Earth, she enjoyed Earth's natural beauty over the confines of the Maximal base, similar to Tigatron.

She was quick, agile, had powerful weapons, and could easily take on most Predacons in a fight, but seemed susceptible to sneak attacks.
