Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the movie from which the Omega Chis and the Kappa Taus got their cheers?

Answer: "Cheer It Forward"

In the Fraternity Cheerleading competition during Greek Week, the Omega Chis and the Kappa Taus had the same cheer. This led the Kappa Taus to believe that through Calvin's friendship with Rusty, Calvin had stolen the cheer to give to the Omega Chis. Cappie barred Calvin from the Kappa Tau house and removed Rusty from the relay race. Dale realized that the cheer was from a 1998 movie called "Cheer It Forward".

It was revealed that the Kappa Taus and the Omega Chis got the idea for the cheer after two of the respective fraternities' brothers' little sisters seen the movie and passed along the cheer to them. "Cheer It Forward" was a spoof of the 2000 film "Bring It On". According to Dale, a poorly received sequel followed "Cheer It Forward" in 2000 called "Cheer It Backward".

This was also a spoof of the 2004 sequel to "Bring It On" called "Bring It On Again". Fun Fact: In 2006, actor Jake McDorman (Evan Chambers) starred in the third "Bring It On" film called "Bring It On: All or Nothing" playing the role of the quarterback boyfriend to Hayden Panettiere's character.
2. What was Dale's major?

Answer: Electrical Engineering

Dale was in the Honors Engineering program like Rusty but was an Electrical Engineering major while Rusty was a Polymer Science major. Casey was an English major and Cappie has had a variety of majors including Latin, Physics, Biology and Psychology. This led to a running gag in season one that when after Cappie stated facts about a certain subject, he would explain it by saying "I used to be a (insert subject) major". Frannie was a Pre-Med major but was unable to graduate on time because she failed to take the necessary classes so she had to repeat her senior year.

Her inspiration to become a doctor was the show "Grey's Anatomy" and she hoped to become either an "Izzie" or a "Meredith". Evan was a Pre-Law major who planned to attend Harvard Law like his father and grandfather.
3. How much in debt was Ashleigh?

Answer: $1,300.27

Towards the end of season one, Ashleigh had gotten a credit card so she could pay for spring break. When Ashleigh received her bill, she was surprised to realize that she owed $1,300.27. When Casey looked at the bill, she told Ashleigh that her card was not a credit card but a charge card and she had to pay the entire amount. If she could not get $1,300, Ashleigh had the face the unthinkable prospect of having to get a job and resigning as ZBZ's social chair. Luckily, the Omega Chis were holding a casino night with the grand prize of $2,000.

She and Casey enlisted the help of Rusty and Max to learn how to count cards. This episode featured many references to the 2008 movie "21" which was about a group of MIT students who counted cards to make money.
4. Cappie told Rusty the story of Joshua Whopper's origins. What year did Joshua become a student at Cyprus-Rhodes University?

Answer: 1984

Rusty and the Kappa Tau pledges were studying the histories of all the Kappa Tau actives. When they came to a brother named Joshua Whopper, none of the pledges knew anything about him. Rusty suspected that Joshua was Cappie. Cappie would tell Rusty the truth behind Joshua. Joshua was a computer program created by the 1984 Kappa Tau pledge class as their pledge project.

The pledge behind it was a nerdy freshman named Lasker Parks. Every year the program would hack into the university's computer, randomly enroll "Joshua Whopper" into large classes and automatically give him an "A". Joshua's purpose was to ensure that Kappa Tau kept the minimum grade point average to stay open. Rusty's investigation almost caused Joshua's identity to be exposed but Cappie pretended to be Joshua in order to take an exam.

Despite Cappie never taking the class which was Gender Studies, he managed to get an "A". In the process, Cappie realized what led to the downfall of his and Rebecca's relationship.
5. What school did Evan's mother have connections with that could help Calvin's boyfriend Michael get a job?

Answer: Princeton University

Evan treated Michael and Calvin to an expensive dinner and bought Michael $1,200 worth of French wine. Calvin was worried with Evan's change of character since he received his trust fund. As a result, Calvin doubted his intentions. After some convincing from Michael, Calvin was convinced that Evan was just trying to be friendly. During dinner, Michael revealed that he was in the process of looking for a professorship. Evan would use this information to make a deal with Michael.

In exchange for Michael passing one of the Omega Chi brothers in French, Evan would call his mother who was on the alumni board at Princeton to help Michael find a job.

Initially, Michael refused but later he received a phone call from Princeton. They wanted to meet Michael after speaking to Evan's mom. Also, Calvin brought a bottle of wine from Evan to give to Michael as a "thank you".
6. What name did Cappie call Dale?

Answer: Chip

Kappa Tau had numerous housing violations and was going to be closed down if they could not the $6,000 needed to fix the house. Rusty volunteered the Kappa Tau house to host the Honors Engineering program's Galileo party. The party got out of control when the students got drunk off their homemade punch and started destroying the house. According to Max, this was the reason why they could not find a place to host the party. Dale unknowingly drank a lot of the "special" punch and he found himself hanging out with an also drunk Cappie. Cappie mistakenly referred to Dale as "Chip".

They passed the time making fun of Max. The next day, the Kappa Tau house was in even worse shape than before and worst of all the famous Mt. Vesuvius volcano was completely destroyed. Max and the other engineering geeks made it up to them by repairing the house and bringing it up to code. Meanwhile, Dale woke up with no recollection of the previous night's events and without his pants.
7. It was Casey who suggested that Max not attend the ZBZ's spring formal.

Answer: False

Casey was worrying about the upcoming spring formal as it was the last event before the presidential election and she wanted to make a lasting impression. Frannie who was running against her had already set up dates with eligible Omega Chi brothers for girls who did not have dates for the formal. Casey was also concerned that Max's lack of social skills would hurt her chances.

She went so far as to quiz Max about the backgrounds of the ZBZ sisters so that he could make conversation. After meeting Evan, Max suggested that he should not attend the formal and Casey agreed. Max would later change his mind after considering how much effort Casey had put into helping him and how romantic it would be for them. Max even went so far as to rent a horse and carriage to take them to the formal.
8. Casey and Ashleigh embarked on a secret "mission" of sorts to find some dirt on Frannie. Everyone involved had a code name. What was Frannie's codename?

Answer: Heidi

Since Rebecca held influence over her fellow pledges, her vote became necessary for Frannie and Casey to get for the presidential election. In an effort to sway Rebecca, Frannie had spread a rumor that Casey had slept with Rebecca's then boyfriend Cappie during spring break.

In actuality, Cappie and Casey had only kissed. It was enough for Rebecca to publicly state that she and the pledges would back Frannie. Casey decided to find some dirt about Frannie and snooped around her room. Ashleigh played the role of lookout as she stood outside the house keeping an eye on Frannie. Everyone had their own code name. Casey was "L.C", Ashleigh was "Audrina" and Frannie was "Heidi".

The ZBZ sister that was with Frannie was dubbed "Whitney" by Ashleigh.

These names were the names of the cast members of the MTV reality show "The Hills"; Lauren "L.C" Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Whitney Port. It had been mentioned in past episodes that Casey and Ashleigh were big fans of "The Hills" and its sister show "Laguna Beach".

The real Lauren Conrad made a guest appearance in an episode of "Greek". She played herself as she appeared in a dream to offer guidance to Casey about a big decision she had to make.
9. What was the name of the first girl Cappie successfully recruited for his threesome?

Answer: Lisa Lawson

Cappie wanted to get back his reputation as a ladies' man so he attempted to plan a threesome during a 70's theme Kappa Tau party. After getting rejected by several girls, Cappie bumped into Lisa Lawson. She agreed to Cappie's proposal until she met the other girl Chrissy. Apparently, Lisa had slept with Chrissy's boyfriend. Lisa said that it was too weird and left. Chrissy mentioned that she knew a fellow sorority sister that was interested and Cappie left to find her.

When he found Janette, Chrissy was gone.

In the end, the two girls had the threesome with another Kappa Tau brother. Cappie woke up to see himself in bed with Wade and the Beaver. Lisa Lawson appeared early in season one. Her nickname according to Casey was the "Virgin Whisper" due to her promiscuity. Rusty spit tequila in her face during rush which earned him the nickname of "Spitter". Later on, Lisa would be Rusty's date during a Kappa Tau mixer in an attempt by Cappie for Rusty to lose his virginity.
10. What did Casey get for Rebecca for the Big Sister/Little Sister gift exchange?

Answer: Nothing at all

All the fraternities and sororities were preparing to initiate their pledges. ZBZ was holding "Inspiration Week" which included a gift exchange with all the pledges and their respective big sisters. Casey was preoccupied with her relationship with Max that she had completely forgotten about getting a gift for Rebecca. Ashleigh lied to Rebecca and told her that Casey had gotten her a gift which excited her. Rebecca in response got Casey a teddy bear.

When it came time to exchange gifts, Casey had nothing to give to Rebecca.

As Casey was going to tell Rebecca the reason why she had not gotten her anything, Ashleigh came in with a gift claiming it was Casey's. Rebecca quickly realized that Ashleigh not Casey had gotten her the gift which hurt her feelings.

The gift was a pair of earrings. Later, Rebecca received a necklace from Frannie. It was revealed that Frannie had something else in mind when she gave Rebecca the necklace. That was to entice Rebecca to join her newly formed sorority. Whether Rebecca accepted Frannie's offer was revealed when "Greek" returned with the second half of season two.
