Answer: Lopez

In order for the negotiations for the marriage of the Queen and Anjou to move forward the Queen was examined to prove that she could have children. The doctor told her, "All is as it should be, ma'am." Dr. Lopez told Walsingham and Burghley that she was "virgo intacto", meaning that she was a virgin.
2. What did Walsingham call Mary, Queen of Scots?

Answer: So-called Queen of Scots

Walsingham certainly didn't like Mary Stuart. He kept begging the Queen to do something about the "so-called Queen of Scots". She refused, saying "This is our cousin, Walsingham."

Mary Stuart had abdicated her Scottish crown and possibly had something to do with the murder of her second husband. She also married the possible murderer of her second husband.
3. Who kept the would-be assassin from Elizabeth?

Answer: Leicester

Elizabeth and her court were walking about the gardens when the would-be assassin attacked. Despite his participation in the plot to put Lady Jane Grey on the throne, Elizabeth loved Leicester nonetheless. She kept Leicester close to her for the rest of his life despite a gap of banishment later on.

Although he was a Catholic, Anjou sympathized with the Protestants but because of his status as the heir to France's throne, he wouldn't convert. Had he not been the heir, he might have converted to Elizabeth's faith.

Burghley and Walsingham wanted the succession settled with the Queen's marriage to Anjou but Leicester was against it from the beginning. He pointed out all the flaws against the marriage and never once pointed out the benefits of the marriage.

Answer: Lost a hand

Leicester found the pamphlet and brought it to the Queen's attention during her private time with Anjou. The author of the pamphlet lost his hand and he held it up saying, "I have here the hand of a true Englishman!" He then fainted from the blood loss.
