Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Episode 1: "Genesis" At which famous New York City landmark does Hiro end up during his teleporting?

Answer: Times Square

Upon arrival, Hiro exclaims "Hello New York" with his heavy Japanese accent.
2. Episode 2: "Don't Look Back" On what day is the bomb expected to destroy New York City?

Answer: November 8

Hiro believes it is October 2nd, but is corrected by a federal agent, who says that the date is November 8th, and shows him a newspaper to prove it. The headline of the paper is "Petrelli Wins By A Landslide".

The episode originally aired on October 2 2006 in North America. At that time, the passing of time was in sync with real-time. However, episodes airing months later state that November 8 is still weeks away, breaking that sync.
3. Episode 3: "One Giant Leap" Matt Parkman and Audrey Hanson are able to witness Sylar using his powers in person. He does so when trying to kidnap the little girl that Matt had found in the previous episode. What was her name?

Answer: Molly

Molly Walker was found in an enclosure under the staircase of her house, when Matt heard her calling for help ever so faintly. At first Audrey suspected him of setting the whole thing up, until he was able to prove his telepathy to her.
4. Episode 4: "Collision" Peter and Mohinder are discussing Dr. Chandra Suresh's theories while on the subway, when time suddenly stops and "Future Hiro" emerges. Who were Peter and Mohinder on their way to see?

Answer: Isaac

After crudely trying to explain to Mohinder that his ability is different than others, believing that he can mimic the abilities of others, Mohinder is hardly convinced. Peter wishes to crush his skepticism by going to Isaac's, seeing his paintings of future events, and perhaps being able to mimic Isaac's precognition.
5. Episode 5: "Hiros" How is Nathan able to get away from Mr. Bennet and The Haitian?

Answer: He flies away

From what is known about The Haitian thus far, his ability to nullify abilities only works on those with mental powers, like Matt Parkman's telepathy or Eden McCain's persuasion. Because of this, Nathan is able to use his ability without any difficulty, even breaking the barrier of sound in the process.
6. Episode 6: "Better Halves" In this episode, Peter calls Hiro (in the present time) to try and get more information about what Future Hiro told him, in order to piece everything together and ultimately save mankind.

Answer: False

Peter doesn't call anyone. Actually, it is Hiro who calls Isaac's place while Peter happens to be there. Peter picks up the phone and realizes the person he is speaking with is the same person who visits him from the future.
7. Episode 7: "Nothing to Hide" What "out of order" device does Micah Sanders control with his abilities in this episode?

Answer: pay phone

After placing his hands on the phone, faint noises are heard, and the pay phone becomes fully operational. After using it to call Niki/Jessica, D.L. interrupts and takes the phone from him, only to hear static.
8. Episode 8: "Seven Minutes to Midnight" Which event does NOT occur in this episode?

Answer: Claire is told to fake a memory wipe by The Haitian

Claire being told to fake a memory wipe by The Haitian actually happens in "Fallout", the eleventh episode of Season 1.
9. Episode 9: "Homecoming" What does Nathan do (or try to do) with the painting he acquired from Mr. Linderman?

Answer: He splashes it with paint and leaves

Peter is still able to view the painting by use of the digital photograph that came with it. Simone shows it to Peter, and he makes his way to Odessa, Texas.
10. Episode 10: "Six Months Ago" Who does Gabriel Gray (Sylar) kill in order to steal their telekinetic ability?

Answer: Brian Davis

Gabriel Gray (aka Sylar) finds Brian Davis's name and information out of Dr. Suresh's files and calls him up. Brian is afraid of his telekinesis because of who he may end up hurting. Gabriel uses his original ability of "knowing how things work and how to fix them" to see how the man's telekinesis functions in his brain. With this, he is somehow able to figure out how he can take his ability, but such involves killing him.

As of this episode, the specifics of how he obtains their ability is unknown.
11. Episode 11: "Fallout" What does Niki do in this episode in order to protect those she loves from Jessica?

Answer: She turns herself in to the police

Niki turns herself in upon realizing that Jessica hurt Micah, and she can no longer be trusted to protect "their" son.
12. Episode 12: "Godsend" When Peter experiences a different vision of himself exploding New York City, which hero is now seen that was not in the original vision?

Answer: Claude

Claude is a British hero with the power of invisibility. He is shocked to find that Peter can see him. In later episodes, Claude teaches Peter that he doesn't need to be close to other heroes in order to use their powers, because his body remembers how to use them.
13. Episode 13: "The Fix" What is Claire's biological mother revealed to be able to manipulate, as shown near the end of this episode?

Answer: fire

Claire's biological mother, Meredith Gordon, was thought to have died in a fire 14 years ago with her young daughter. However, her mother's pyrokinesis could have resulted in her immunity to the fire's damaging effects, while Claire's survival could easily be attributed to her healing factor.
14. Episode 14: "Distractions" When Claude throws Peter off the 30-story building, what does Peter end up doing to survive?

Answer: He uses Claire's spontaneous regeneration to heal from the fall

Claude was trying to prove that Peter doesn't need to be in close vicinity to the other heroes in order for his mimic ability to activate. Once his body has learned it, it is always capable of mimicking it. Claude's attempt was actually to make Peter fly like his brother, but instead, he smashes into a taxi below and uses Claire's healing factor to regenerate himself.

When Peter activates too many abilities at once, he becomes unstable. Claude's first lesson is trying to get Peter to pick out one ability at a time and stick with it.
15. Episode 15: "Run!" How much money does Nathan give Meredith in order to keep her quiet about their daughter, in order to protect his image just weeks before the election?

Answer: $100,000

Even though Nathan and Meredith agree on $100,000 on the phone, Meredith tells Claire that he is giving them $50,000 and says that half of that will be hers. Well, that's it! Thanks for playing! Hope you enjoyed it!
