Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening scene and for the most part thereafter, where is House?

Answer: He is in a burning building.

As the episode begins, House is in a daze and surrounded by flames in a burning building. House is despondent because of his pending obligatory prison sentence.
2. Who is the first person, who committed suicide, from House's past to appear?

Answer: Kutner

In House's hallucinatory state, a vision of Kutner appears. Kutner wants to know why House isn't heading for the exits. Kutner deflects the question and asks about the dead guy on the floor. Enigmatically, Kutner also takes the chewing gum from his mouth and places it on a shoe.
3. In a retrospective view, House meets a patient. The patient declares, "I was in a car accident last month." How does House reply?

Answer: "I won a swimming trophy in high school."

The patient is trying to convey information to House, but House rejoins with, "I won a swimming trophy in high school." It is a non-sequitur response that indicates House simply is not impressed.
4. House thinks the patient is only there to obtain strong pain medication. What does House notice about the patient that changes his mind?

Answer: Strange bruising around the patient's belly button

House examines the patient and in a manner of diagnostic expertise that Sherlock Holmes would admire, House determines that the patient is merely seeking powerful pain medication. However, as the patient is leaving, House notices the unusual bruising around the patient's belly button. House declares, "Well, you might get some fun drugs out of this after all."
5. Wilson only has five months to live. Due to House's pranks with the hospital plumbing system, the parole board has deemed that House return to prison. How long is the sentence?

Answer: Six months

House had unwittingly played some pranks which caused severe damage to some expensive hospital equipment. An external investigation revealed that House was the culprit. The parole board decision is to send House back to prison for six months. This sentence is devastating to House since he wants to spend the time with Wilson.
6. In House's hallucinatory state, he sees four people from his past. Who, one who had died from injuries in a bus crash, is the second to appear?

Answer: Amber

Amber appears and House is perturbed. Nevertheless, he listens to her arguments. She intuits that House developed a particular empathy for his patient. Even so, as this is a hallucination, House is simply arguing with his own subconscious.
7. In House's hallucinatory state, he gets a visit from his former girlfriend of some five years, who was once an attorney for the hospital. What is her name?

Answer: Stacy

It is arguably one of the only times that House fell in love. Stacy tells House that she lived with House for years and she knows that House believes in love. Stacy appears to inject some reason into House, but House remains adamant. Stacy implores with House to save himself. Yet, House remains unconvinced.
8. House asks Wilson to assume responsibility for the prank that House initiated. How does Wilson respond?

Answer: Wilson refuses to take the blame in order to teach a lesson.

Initially, Wilson is ready to succumb to House's plan. Wilson changes his mind though and refuses to take the blame. It is a harsh decision, but Wilson remains resolute in his decision.
9. Who ultimately "takes the fall" for House?

Answer: His patient

After a very candid conversation with his patient, the patient (James LeGros) offers to take the fall for House. How the patient actually does this is revealed at the end of the episode.
10. How do House and Wilson plan to spend the remaining months of Wilson's life together?

Answer: They plan to take a cross-country motorcycle trip.

In a very satisfying ending, House fakes his own death in order to avoid prison time. He and Wilson embark upon a motorcycle trip together. House has sacrificed his career to spend time with Wilson, who only has five months to live. Before they depart, Wilson asks, "When the cancer starts getting really bad ..." House replies, "Cancer's boring." They drive off together for the ultimate road trip.
