After her boyfriend, Danny, fired her, Fran went to work for Shades of the Orient.

Originally, Danny was supposed to dump Fran for Val not Heather. Other changes from the original script include: C.C. was a divorcee rather than a single woman, there was a chauffeur named Edmond, the family name was Shurfield, and Maxwell had only two kids; Maggie was added.

The Sheffield mansion is in Manhattan. Incidentally, they live next door to Roger Clinton.

7. In the opening credits, which name do we see first: Lauren Lane(C.C.) or Daniel Davis (Niles)?

Answer: Daniel Davis

Niles had top billing over C.C. As much as they hated each other on the show, they ended up getting married. It was at that time that we learned that C.C. stands for Chastity Claire.

8. Who guest stars as Dottie in the pilot episode?

Answer: Dee Dee Rescher

Dee Dee Rescher reappeared three more times in the six year run of the show. She was Dottie in the episodes, "That's Midlife," and "The Reunion Show." She was the bailiff in the episode "Samson, He Denied Her."

9. Mr. Sheffield hired Fran because he needed a nanny for a week.

Answer: False

Mr. Sheffield needed a nanny for the weekend. He hired Fran because he had no other options.

10. At the end of the intro, Fran sets the camera to take a family photograph. Where are Brighton and Gracie situated in the photo?

Answer: on the floor by themselves

I always thought it strange that these two were on the floor by themselves. It's hilarious, however, when the picture is taken and everybody's hair stands up.
