Joey was actually doing a photo shoot for "People" magazine.
Joey: "Wow! 'People magazine'. My mom's going to be so excited. Now if you could just get me into a 'Playboy' that has an Asian girl on the cover, my dad could read about me, too!"

Gina and Michael were surprised that Joey had a date for that night, but they did not have a chance to tell Joey why before Alex came in.
Michael: "Hey, oh, how'd your interview go yesterday?"
Joey: "Great. I think she kind of liked me so I'm taking her out to dinner tonight."
Gina: "Tonight? Are you serious?"
Joey: "Why? What's the big deal?"
Alex: "Good morning, everybody! Happy Valentine's day!"
Joey: No! No! No!

Answer: the Knicks

Joey proposed the toast to the Knicks, a New York basketball team. The Lakers and the Clippers are both Los Angeles-based basketball teams while the Mets are a New York baseball team.
The character of Judy was played by Dina Waters. She has been in feature films such as "The Haunted Mansion", "Freaky Friday", and "John Q".

Alex bitterly shared with the group her resentment about Valentine's Day.
Alex: "Would you look at all these suckers out celebrating this 'Hallmark holiday'. My husband and I don't need this kind of thing. Though a card might have been nice. Or a phone call. Or an e-mail perhaps. But we spoke on Tuesday...he asked me to gather up his receipts. (Angrily) Tax time's coming!" (Swigs down an entire glass of champagne).

Joey has a tradition every Valentine's day of going to a bar and sending a bottle of White Zinfandel to a table of women pretending that they don't need men. Then 5 minutes after sending the wine, he 'pounces'. He calls the annual ritual "the Valentine's Day Massacre".

Joey had asked Michael, Gina, and Alex to accompany him to the restaurant to take the pressure off the date. Judy was able to figure out Joey had intentionally asked that they be there. She, unfortunately, took this as a sign that Joey wanted her to meet his family.

Gina originally ordered two coffees in hopes of sobering up an extremely drunk and babbling Alex; however, Alex's behavior made her decide to get something a little stronger for herself.
Gina: "Two coffees, please."
Alex: "You want to know how long it's been since we've had sex?"
Gina: "One coffee and one tequila, please."
Alex: "And even when we have sex it feels like something's missing. And....Can I tell you a secret?"
Gina: "I wish you wouldn't."
Despite being drunk, Alex was able to move fast enough to down Gina's tequila shot.

Answer: Noah Wyle

Despite Alex's embarrassment, Gina has to tease Alex about her 'sexual secret'.
Gina: "Yeah. I got to ask...Noah Wyle? I mean, really. I could see Clooney, or Eriq La Salle, or even that new Indian chick."

Answer: Canada

Joey doesn't want to go to Canada to meet Judy's parents especially since he doesn't even want to have a relationship with her, much less such a serious one. So Joey made a flimsy excuse about a bird flying in and taking his passport.
Judy: "You're lying. You don't think I can tell when you're lying? Jo-Jo Dancer, it's me, Ju-Ju Bean!"
Joey: "I've never heard either of those nicknames before."

Answer: He's Jewish.

Unfortunately, Judy ended up including a comment regarding Joey's "Jewish faith" in her article for 'People' magazine. As for the other excuses, Joey was unintentionally able to convince Judy to have children. Another constant concern was Judy's age. Joey originally though she was 33-34. Though we never find out her exact age, we know she's over 40 and that if she did not dye her hair she would be "completely gray".

In real life, Dina Waters is 38 years old.
