At the end of season 5, Raylan committed to staying in Kentucky just long enough to take down Boyd Crowder. After doing so, he planned to move to Florida to be with Winona and his baby daughter. As season 6 began, he had a confidential informant in place with Boyd Crowder.

This was a fun scene in the season premiere. Raylan first attempted to question the Federale in a bar in Mexico. The Federale refused to answer his questions, telling him a US Marshall badge meant nothing in Mexico. So, Raylan kidnapped the Federale, stuffed him in his trunk, drove him across the border, and told him, "Welcome to the United States of America, Chief. Around these parts, this star means something."

Answer: Choo Choo

Choo Choo was injured in the war, so was a bit challenged intellectually. But, he was a very big, strong guy, who was loyal to his friends. He explained to Raylan that his nickname was Choo Choo because "when I hit you, it comes hard, comes fast. Like a choo choo train." Choo Choo died of gunshot wounds, in a car sitting on train tracks.

Boyd was not pleased to discover that Katherine and Wynn had lied to him about the owner of the $10 million that he was supposed to steal - especially after Avery threatened to kill him and Ava. He confronted the two in Wynn's hotel room. Wynn asked if he was quitting and this exchange was the result.

Answer: To plant marijuana

Markham was convinced that the state of Kentucky was going to legalize marijuana, so he moved back to Kentucky and began working to obtain prime land to plant the crop. His actions spurred Katherine and Wynn to try to steal the money he was using for purchases.

They hired Boyd Crowder for the job. Crowder, of course, started working his own angle. This pulled Raylan in, since he was working to arrest Boyd.

At the end of the season premiere, Boyd realized he could not trust Dewey. So, he shot him. Since Dewey was the witness that had been in Mexico with Boyd, that was one less avenue for Raylan to make a case against Boyd.

Answer: Loretta McCready

Never one to miss an opportunity, Loretta bought Dickey's land. The girl was also betting on the legalization of marijuana, and selling marijuana was what she and her father had done when she was a child. Of course, Markham and his hired guns soon sought her out, wanting to buy the land from her. In the meantime, Boyd put the word out, telling other landowners not to sell to Markham.

Answer: Zachariah Randolph

Boyd hired Ava's uncle, Zachariah. He needed his expertise. Zachariah hated Boyd, though, since Boyd's brother had abused Ava. Zachariah took the opportunity to try to kill Boyd. He sabotaged the mine so Boyd would fall. Then, when one of the guys realized what he had done, he killed him. Then, he trapped Boyd in the mine. Boyd, being Boyd, managed to escape.

Answer: Rachel Brooks

Art was injured in season 5, so was on leave, recuperating, during season 6. That put Rachel in charge. She managed Raylan - but also got advice from Art. Art also provided advice to Raylan. And, he did a little investigating, as well, even though he was supposed to be on leave. Then, when Ava made off with the money toward the end of the season, Art was called back to his command.

Answer: Wynn Duffy

Katherine suspected that Avery was the "rat" who got her husband killed. Avery suspected it was Katherine - who had been sleeping with him. Art figured out that it had been Wynn Duffy all the time.

Answer: He kidnapped Katherine and ransomed her to Markham

Boyd's first plan was to break into the vault. But, the expert on the vault blew himself up. When that did not work, he planned to dig through from the mine. But, the expert on the mine was Ava's uncle who hated him, and Ava's uncle betrayed him and nearly killed him.

He was smart enough to know that the plan to move the money to Charlotte was a trap set by Raylan. He sent his employees after that wild goose, and he kidnapped Katherine and ransomed her to Markham for the money.

Answer: Ava

Raylan told Ava that she had not given the marshals enough on Boyd and they were going to send her back to prison. She showed Raylan Dewey's necklace, with blood on it, that she had found, but Raylan said that was not proof that Boyd killed Dewey. She then told him she could get Boyd to confess.

He agreed to give her the chance, and was hiding in the trees when Boyd came to meet her with the money. As she hugged her fiancé, she told him she was sorry, then she shot him. She told Raylan that 'he was never gonna confess," and she took off in the truck with the money, leaving Raylan with a bleeding Boyd. Boyd lived, and wound up in the hospital, in custody.

Answer: Mike Cosmatopolis

Mike (or Mikey, as Duffy called him) handcuffed Wynn and called to tell Katherine that Wynn had killed her husband (he was the rat). But, when he realized she was going to kill Wynn, he tried to stop her. The two fought, and killed each other. Duffy, once again, survived.

Answer: He killed himself

Zachariah helped his niece, Ava, when she was on the run. The two hiked into the mountains, but their escape was thwarted when they found their guide dead. Then they heard that Boyd was still alive. Ava panicked and ran, but Zachariah waited for Boyd.

He tried to kill Boyd when he showed up, first by shooting at him, but Boyd shot him first. Then, when Boyd got close, he revealed the dynamite strapped to his body, and set it off. Boyd got away, but Zachariah died.

Answer: Raylan was a marshal in Florida, Boyd was preaching in prison, and Ava was raising her son.

In the final showdowns, Boyd killed Avery and Raylan killed Boon. Ava escaped, with Wynn Duffy's help, in exchange for the $9 million. Four years later, Raylan was a marshal in Florida, where Winona and his daughter Willa lived with Winona's husband. Boyd was in prison, preaching to his convict flock. And, Ava was still in hiding, raising Boyd's son.

When Raylan found her, and realized she had a child, and would never be safe from Boyd, he let her go. He then visited Boyd, convincing him that Ava was dead.
