Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Peggy Hill is one of the true motors that makes the humor machine work on 'King of the Hill'. What wonderful character actress provides the voice talent that makes the Peggy Hill motor run?

Answer: Kathy Najimy

Kathy Najimy is a Hollywood veteran, with films such as 'Soapdish', 'The Fisher King', and 'Sister Act' on her resume. She has also been a regular on TV shows such as 'Veronica's Closet' and 'Numb3rs'. Oddly enough, despite her lovely heartland accent on the show, Kathy was born in San Diego. She's a Lebanese American.
2. Peggy Hill was neither born a Hill, nor was her birth given name Peggy. What was her given name at birth?

Answer: Margaret Platter

Peggy Hill was born Margaret J. Platter in 1956. Peggy's father was modeled somewhat after the father in the movie 'A River Runs Through It', and her mother was extremely critical of Peggy as a youth. It is suggested on the show that Peggy essentially left home while still in her teens.
3. Peggy Hill is not a native to the state of Texas. Rather, she was born in another state north of the Lone Star state. What large western U.S. state was Peggy's birthplace?

Answer: Montana

Peggy's family were Montana cattle ranchers. Peggy stayed in Montana until high school, at which time she moved to Texas and soon became Hank Hill's sweetheart. Her accent seems to be a hybrid Montana-Texas drawl. (Okay, I admit that I just made that up!)
4. Peggy is, generally speaking, a normally proportioned woman. However, one area of her body is unusually large. Which part(s) would this be?

Answer: Her feet

Peggy Hill has size 16 1/2 shoes, exceptionally large by any standard. Peggy's feet appear to be even larger than her husband Hank's. Though she is very embarrassed by her foot size, in one episode Peggy encounters a foot fetishist. Despite her horror directed at this individual, she eventually learns to accept her exceptionally large feet.
5. Peggy Hill is not only a wonderful homemaker, she also has a part-time job. What language does she substitute teach for in the local schools?

Answer: Spanish

Peggy fancies herself to be a wonderful Spanish speaker, but in reality her Spanish is awful. Not only is her pronunciation very poor, she often confuses her vocabulary, always to the amusement of the savvy viewer. Despite her lack of Spanish language talent, Peggy Hill has somehow won several 'Substitute Teacher of the Year' awards.
6. Peggy is a self-described genius, and has proved her great intellectual acumen on various occasions. In one early 'King of the Hill' episode, Peggy Hill becomes the Texas state champion in what language-related game?

Answer: Boggle

Peggy Hill is a very gifted Boggle player, her specialty seeming to be the formation of relatively short words in length. In the episode mentioned in the question, Peggy goes to Houston where she unseats the reigning state Boggle champion, Cissy Cobb, using the word 'acquaintanceship'.
7. Aside from teaching, Peggy Hill has also done some writing for the local newspaper. What is the name of this newspaper for which Peggy has written an occasional column?

Answer: Arlen Bystander

In one episode, Peggy is hired by the Arlen Bystander to write a 'helpful hints' column. Unfortunately for Peggy, she doesn't have any helpful hints of her own, so she is forced to rely on her neighbor Minh. When Minh's hints run out, Peggy comes up with one of her own that turns out to be deadly. Happily, she is able to stop it from going to print!
8. According to the official 'King of the Hill' website, what famous athlete is Peggy Hill's favorite author?

Answer: Nolan Ryan

Obviously, Peggy is confused. However, the amusing thing is that Nolan Ryan has co-written a number of books, several of them being autobiographies. One of them, about great major league pitchers, is entitled 'Kings of the Hill'!
9. In one episode of 'King of the Hill', Peggy Hill claims that a notable country musician has stolen lyrics from her. What talented and unfortunate singer/songwriter is subjected to this silliness?

Answer: Randy Travis

Peggy and her family attend the Country Music Fan Fair in Nashville, where she hears a new song from Randy Travis entitled 'Just the Way God Made Me'. She accuses him of taking this song from her song, entitled 'This Is Just The Way God Made Me'. Randy Travis denies this, suggesting: 'If I had a dime for every song a fan sent me, I'd be Dolly Parton rich.'
10. Which of these is a common expression used by Peggy Hill when she's excited?

Answer: Ho, yeah!

Peggy can often be heard shouting 'Ho, yeah!' when she has done something exceptionally. She also occasionally shouts, 'Oh, Peggy!' when she has said something clever. She truly is unique!
