Jack observes the scar on his stomach in the mirror. While pondering this phenomenon, Jack receives a call from his mother. Jack's mother is perplexed and bereaved at the loss of her husband's coffin in transit. Jack's mother tells Jack that the procedure was performed at the age of seven or eight.
