Answer: the beach

Ben meets Ilana's party traversing thought the jungle. He suggests that they head toward the beach where there is some semblance of a bulwark to fend off attacks. Ilana agrees.

Answer: William Atherton

William Atherton portrays the the strict principal at the school where Benjamin Linus teaches. He assigns some menial duty to Ben which prevents Ben from contributing to his History Club. Atherton once played a Dr. Linus Mills in an episode of the series "Nash Bridges", also produced by Carlton Cuse.

Answer: John Locke

John Locke, in this timeline, happens to be a substitute teacher. Leslie Arzt makes a point about this fact. Nevertheless, Ben is intrigued by John's insight and wants to hear more. John professes to be an advocate of Ben's accession to the principal's position.

Answer: Ben killed Jacob.

Miles takes the sack of Jacob's ashes in his hand. He reflects momentarily, then renders a resounding verdict. The verdict is that Ben summarily killed Jacob. Miles declares, "Linus killed him." Ben protests profusely, but the consensus seems to be in. That is to say, Ben indeed, killed Jacob.

Partially inspired by John Locke, the substitute teacher, Ben aspires to improve the school by removing the present principal and becoming the principal himself. Even though, Ben has the students' interests at heart, he cannot deny the requisite letter of recommendation from the incumbent principal. Ironically, Ben sacrifices his own desires for the benefit of his prized student.

As the members of the remaining group gather together in nostalgic embraces, something sinister lurks beneath the waters. A periscope observes the party on the island. A man inside the submarine announces, "Sir, there are people on the beach. Should we stop?" The man is revealed to be Charles Widmore. He commands, "No, proceed as planned."
