It appears that the MiB has a particular affinity for speaking with Jack. Jack as is his nature, is unobliging and unwilling to accept everything that the MiB proffers.

Jack resolutely states to the MiB that he saw his own father, Christian appear on the island. Jack wants to know if his father was manifested by the MiB. The MiB declares that it was he who portrayed Jack's father. The MiB suggests that, "You needed to find water. You find this hard to believe, Jack, but all I've ever been interested in, is helping you."

Arguably, the most emotional scene in this season is the reuniting of Jin and Sun. But Zoe appears and commands them to stand down. Sawyer protests, "We had a deal!" Zoe replies, "The deal is off." The command is given and rockets are fired upon the beach where the MiB and Jack are standing. The MiB conveys Jack to a safe place and tells him, "It's ok, you're with me now."
