1. Which of the following characters ostensibly never served in the military?

Answer: Kate

Desmond had a brief and undistinguished stint in the Royal Scots Regiment. Keamy served in the U.S. Marine Corps, after which, he was employed as a mercenary. Sayid was a member of the Iraqi Republican Guard, initially, as a Communications Officer, and he later was utilized as torturer/interrogator. There is no indication that Kate ever served in the military.
2. Quite a few characters, on and off the island, are, or were in the medical profession. What was Bernard's profession?

Answer: Dentist

Through the fourth season, Bernard is still alive on the island. He was employed as a dentist in the U.S. He is married to Rose. When Hurley asks Rose about Apollo bars, Rose tells Hurley that, "Huh-uh, but candy is candy ... that's what Bernard always says. Talk about a sweet-tooth. That man has a mouth full of sweet-teeth."
3. A member of the Oceanic Six, Sun has assumed a new profession in life, after life on the island. What does she do?

Answer: She is managing director of Paik Industries.

Sun has received a generous settlement from Oceanic Airlines. She confronts her father in his office. He is indignant about her attitude. Sun says, "Oceanic paid us our settlement for the crash. It was very significant. This morning, I bought a controlling interest in your company. So you will now respect me." With a controlling interest in the company, Sun assumes the position of managing director of her father's company.

Jack is a member of the Oceanic Six. Apparently, he is also the only medical doctor among the survivors. Jack's specialty is spinal surgery and he performs a critical operation to remove a tumor from Ben on the island.

Before arriving on the island, Juliet had been doing pioneering work in the field of fertility. She was able to help her sister conceive. This kind of work elicited an invitation to join the Others on the island, in order to assist with their research.
6. Charlie was a talented musician for the briefly popular group, Drive Shaft. What instrument did Charlie play?

Answer: bass guitar

Charlie achieved a small amount of fame, along with his brother, with the group, Drive Shaft. Charlie was the songwriter and bass guitarist for the group. The group soared in popularity after Charlie's purported death, in the crash of the Oceanic 815. His brother's addiction to heroin, ultimately became the downfall of the group.
7. Some of the survivors led a life of crime. What was Sawyer's involvement in crime?

Answer: He was con artist.

James Ford (Sawyer) made his living by preying on the greed of strangers. He was fairly successful until he was turned into the police by his partner and protégé, Cassidy. Sawyer had also committed murder in Australia, in a case of mistaken identity.
8. Kate's profession may be described as which of the following?

Answer: She was a criminal.

Before the plane crash, Kate was being extradited to the U.S., in order to stand trial for a variety of crimes. She had murdered her father, participated in a bank robbery and had stolen a car, among other things. Even so, Kate was a strong and supportive member of the survivors.
9. What did Leslie Arzt do for a living?

Answer: He was a Science teacher.

Dr. Arzt, as some of his fellow survivors called him, taught Science to ninth graders at a school in New Jersey. Arzt occupied himself on the island, by collecting insects. Arzt claims, "I've discovered twenty new species, I'm gonna be the next Charles Darwin." Arzt met an untimely death by mishandling some dynamite found at the Black Rock.
10. What kind of scientist is Dan Faraday?

Answer: physicist

Daniel Faraday taught physics at Queen's College, Oxford University. He also carried out experiments in time travel, outside of the scope of his teaching obligations. Dan was responsible for Desmond being able to find Desmond's "constant." Dan had also recorded in his notebook, that if necessary, Desmond would be Dan's "constant."
