This is the first episode in which Floyd the barber is actually seen as a person. He seems a bit older than Howard McNear and, according to the stranger in town, has trouble with rheumatism.

Floyd gets all choked up at the idea of having a two chair shop. Of course, he never actually finds out that he had been taken by a con-artist. Both Andy and Barney keep that concealed from him.
