Vance remarked that professionals didn't share cabs and started querying the team to find out if any of them knew who the woman was. When Vance turned around to ask Gibbs, Gibbs had already left.

Abby liked the way Jenny had dressed, claiming it was very classic. She then broke down and told Gibbs that Jenny would have smiled at that thought and that she also liked the way Gibbs dressed.

Ziva entered autopsy and saw Tony drinking by himself. Tony was upset that Jenny had died alone - no husband, no children... He and Ziva then surmised that it must have been in Paris where Jenny and Gibbs got together.

Gibbs entered Jenny's house and went through the papers on her desk. He saw a piece of stationery - at the top was written "Dear Jethro." She didn't finish the note.

McGee determined the numbers were an old case number. When Vance went to the annex to look at the case file, he found only a telephone book in the case file. It turns out Mike Franks had figured it out, gotten the file, and left the phone book in its place. Vance figured out that Franks was the fifth shooter - Tony added that Franks was on Jenny's side.

Natasha's real name was Svetlana. Gibbs had taken Viggo's cell phone. When Svetlana called, he answered and she realized where Gibbs was. Svetlana came to Jenny's house where Gibbs was and confronted him, intending to kill him for the man he had killed in Paris. Franks showed up at the right time and killed Svetlana. McGee traced Viggo's cell phone's location to Jenny's address and he went to confront Gibbs.

Gibbs and Franks burned down Jenny's townhouse, with Svetlana's body inside, to leave no loose ends. The cause of death was determined to be smoke inhalation by the medical examiner. (The cause of the fire was determined to be a gas pilot light.) The news reported that the body found inside was that of Jenny Shepard, Director of NCIS.
