Answer: Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World"

The powers that be usually have some way of embedding themselves in position. In this series, Roj Blake was a political activist whose views and activities got him brainwashing treatment, a conviction on trumped up charges and deportation. George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-four" was another influence in a similar vein.

Answer: Liberator

Liberator is quite an advanced spaceship for its time, being superior to the pursuing Federation craft. Icarus was from "Planet of the Apes", Enterprise is of "Star Trek" fame and Serenity comes from the more recent "Firefly" renegade series.
