1. Why does Dogtanian chase after Juliette's carriage?

Answer: It splashes him with mud as it passes

Dogtanian does not actually see Juliette until the carriage is stopped, and he has challenged her driver. Once he sees her, he is immediately apologetic.

2. What does Dogtanian call Juliette's coachman?

Answer: Peasant

This is while Dogtanian is arguing with the coachman about the mud he splashed on him. Dogtanian seems to want to pick a fight with every man he meets!

3. Dogtanian challenges Juliette's coachman to a duel, but he forgets something important. What is it?

Answer: That his sword is broken

Dogtanian's sword was broken in the previous episode when he was fighting with the Black Moustache and his squire. He pulls it out of the sheath, only to remember that there is only a couple of inches of sword left!

4. Where does Juliette take her handkerchief from?

Answer: Her collar

She offers Dogtanian a handkerchief to wipe off the mud. This scene is rather oddly animated - it shows Dogtanian looking dreamily at Juliette, then cuts straight to a close-up of her chest, where it lingers for a while before she reaches into her collar to remove the handkerchief. Maybe it's just me being perverse, but it really makes it look like Dogtanian was letching at her chest :p

Answer: Serve his majesty the King

He doesn't tell Juliette that he has come to join the Muskateers, only that he has come to serve the king. She works out that he is planning to become a Muskateer when he mentions Monsieur de Treville's name.

It is a large, dark pink rose in one corner of the handkerchief. Juliette leaves in her carriage, then Dogtanian realises he still has it.

There are two pairs fighting each other, and one dog watching. When one of the dogs is beaten by his friend, the watcher says the winner must now beat him. This scene is also seen in the opening credits.

This guard is also seen in the opening credits. He tells Dogtanian that he cannot allow him to enter without the letter from his father.

The shopkeeper is one of only a few vulpine characters in the series. He has little glasses, and a rather creepy voice.

The second sword is much cheaper than the first, but Dogtanian has hardly any money at all.

Answer: 9

The quantity is the same in the first scenes, but later it changes to less, then more. However, this could be because Dogtanian was repairing swords in exchange for a new weapon, so he could have taken broken ones out, and put newly repaired ones in. Not likely though - if the rest of the series is anything to go by, it was probably just a continuity error!

12. While Dogtanian is looking down over the streets of Paris, and wondering where Juliette lives, a church bell is chiming. According to the chimes, what time is it?

Answer: 10 o'clock

I'm not entirely sure where Dogtanian is when he is looking down at the city. I'm guessing by the loud bells that he must be at the church, but it's not very clear.

They tell Dogtanian that he cannot rest on their land, and they then attack him with sticks. It seems to be becoming a trend for Dogtanian to get hit with sticks - in episode 2 he is knocked unconscious by one!

Answer: Pig

The group also contains a rabbit, what appears to be an otter, and dogs. Rabbits and otters are very rarely seen in "Dogtanian". I also don't recall seeing any male cat characters, so it can't have been that choice.

Answer: It gets bent

He has terrible luck with his swords, first he breaks one, then he bends one, then in a later episode he gets it stuck in its sheath.

He sees Dogtanian while he was trying to straighten his sword. He asks him where he is staying, and Dogtanian replies that he has nowhere to stay, so the guard says he must be a vagrant, and starts chasing him.

Answer: In a water butt

He dives in the water butt and holds his breath until the guard has gone. Good job Dogtanian's so small really!

Answer: She's watering plants, and accidentally pours it on him

Dogtanian is standing under Juliette's window, and she is watering the plants on the window sill. In an incredible display of terrible aim, she manages to avoid getting a single drop on the flowers, and pours the whole jug on Dogtanian.

Answer: Third

The first was the from the mud he was splashed with at the beginning, and the second was when he was hiding in the water barrel.

He does not realise that it is Juliette at first, but when she comes downstairs, he realises he has found her again. Thanks for playing this quiz!
