Answer: Birmingham

Godber was from Birmingham and had a very strong brummie accent. Unfortunately, he supported Aston Villa. He was nicked in Smethick trying to rob the flat next door.
2. What was Fletcher's home address, as mentioned in "New Faces, Old Hands"?

Answer: 107 Alexander Park Crescent

This is mentioned on Fletcher's arrival at Slade prison when giving his details. He checks in with Godber and Hislop. It was broadcast on 5/9/1972 and was the start of Series 1.
3. How much did Horrible Ives say was the weight of the potatoes when betting with Fletcher in "The Hustler"?

Answer: Just over 27

Ken Jones played Ives in three episodes and Porridge the Movie despite being linked as a main character. He appeared in episodes two, three and four but sadly died in 1999.

Miss Dorothy Jameson was the govenor's secretary and was held hostage by prisoner Reg in her only episode appearance. It was later revealed that she was having an affair with Barrowclough who was also hostage. June Wenham also appeared in "An Inspector Calls."
8. Which best loved actor played Old Blanco Webb?

Answer: David Jason

David Jason is of course best loved for his role As Del-Boy in "Only Fools and Horses", but acted with Ronnie Barker in "Porridge" and "Open All Hours". "Only Fools" co star Nicholas Lyndhurst who plays Rodney was in the spin-off to "Porridge", "Going Straight".
9. In "A Storm in a Teacup" what dropped from above into Fletcher's cup of tea?

Answer: Bottle of Pills

"Storm in a Teacup" was part of Series 3 and Starred Peter Vaughn as "Genial" Harry Grout. When the pills that Harris whipped fell into Fletch's tea, Grouty ordered him to retrieve them even though Fletcher didn't realise he had them all along. Peter is most remembered for his role in "Our Friends in the North".
10. How many "Porridge" episodes were ever made including the Christmas specials?

Answer: 20

"Porridge" had 20 episodes, a movie and a spin-off series called "Going Straight". It ran from 1974-1977 and was highly successful, making Ronnie Barker one of Britain's best loved comedy characters.
