Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Pete's wife's name?

Answer: Anna

Violet had told Pete that it was essential for him to clear the air with his dead wife and tell her anything that he didn't get to tell her when she was alive, or he would never be able to heal and completely move on. When he was standing over the gravestone, it clearly read "Anna Wilder, Beloved Wife." We can question the "beloved wife" part; Pete was there to tell Anna that he had hated her and that she was a horrible wife.
2. Addison woke up dismayed to discover what?

Answer: It was raining.

Addison was not happy to be awoken by the sounds of a heavy rain. She complained that rain was something she had left behind in Seattle; it was not supposed to rain in Los Angeles!
3. Why was Naomi upset in this episode?

Answer: Her daughter was staying with Sam.

Maya, Sam and Naomi's daughter, had asked Naomi if she could stay with Sam for a week. Naomi was upset because she was afraid that Maya liked Sam more than her and that she might be losing her daughter as well as her husband.
4. Dell told Cooper what the secret to women is. What did he say?

Answer: Figure out what they want and give it to them.

Cooper didn't want to take Dell seriously, because as he said: "You're a child. You can barely grow facial hair. You don't know anything about women yet." But Dell proved his point when he figured out that Naomi needed a substitute for Sam in her life, so he kept bringing in cakes for her.

He had told her that he baked the cakes for her himself, but later admitted to Cooper that his grandmother actually had.
5. Whom did Pete confide in the most about his wife's death?

Answer: Addison

Addison approached Pete and tried to be nice to him, because the others had told her that this week was the anniversary of his wife's death. He got mad at her and told her that if she really wanted to know what happened was that he went to sleep next to his wife on a Tuesday night and woke up Wednesday and she was dead.

He also said that he had hated his wife and they'd had a horrible marriage. After Pete stormed off and Addison stood there in shock, Violet said that that was the most he'd ever revealed about Anna.
6. What was wrong with the little girls that Cooper was treating?

Answer: They were blue.

The girls' mother brought one of them in originally and told Cooper that her daughter still wasn't feeling well and that she was blue. Cooper told that that wasn't anything to worry about; kids often feel depressed when they're sick. But when he entered the exam room, he was shocked to see that the little girl was quite literally blue - her skin was blue.

He treated her with an IV antibiotic, but couldn't understand why this was happening. When her three sisters also began turning blue, Cooper decided to follow the girls around while they played to see if they were exposing themselves to any toxic elements that might be interacting with their bodies to turn them blue.

The cause was found to be a lawn fertilizer in a neighbour's shed that the girls were playing in.
7. How old was the virgin that Addison was treating?

Answer: 35

Addison's patient was a newlywed woman who was literally unable to have sex with her husband. She was 35 years old and was afraid that the fact that she had remained a virgin so long meant that she had "broken my hoo-ha!" Addison discovered that it was a medical issue that was causing her patient's "gates to weld shut" and she enlisted Pete's help to treat her using some alternative medicine techniques.

This was how Addison "found the magic": she was able to work with Pete to save this couple's marriage, which made her feel good about herself and her decision to move to L.A.
8. What did Violet's old message from Allan ask her to do?

Answer: Pick up Chinese food.

This is another sign into Violet's inability to get over her relationship with Allan, the guy she was with for three years who got married a couple of months after they broke up. She had an old message from him on her answering machine, in which he told her that he would be home late that night, and that she should pick up Chinese food for them to eat in bed. Cooper caught her listening to the message again and tried to convince her that it was unhealthy for her to keep listening to it.

At the end of the episode, she deleted the message, with Cooper standing behind her in support.
9. Pete went back to his wife's grave at the end of the episode.

Answer: True

He was in the cemetery again and was elaborating on why he thought she was a horrible wife. His reasons included that she drank all the orange juice, hogged the covers and withheld sex. Pete even kicked the gravestone while shouting "I hate you so much!" and then he finished with "and I'm sorry I couldn't save you".
10. Where was Addison at the end of the episode?

Answer: In bed.

She was back in bed, like she had been at the start of the episode, listening to the rain again. This time though, she had a smile on her face. She had realized that it didn't matter that it rained in L.A., there was still magic and she had found it. She had found her place at the Oceanside Wellness Group.
