1. Name the crazy love triangle focused on throughout the first season of "Queer as Folk".

Answer: Ted loves Michael, Michael loves Brian, Brian loves himself

When Ted is in a coma and Emmett and Michael go to his condo to hide his "unmentionables", they come across Ted's shrine to Michael. Michael and Brian grew up together and Michael is always fawning over Brian. Brian does care about his friends but loves no one.

This was a trick question because Brian doesn't come out to say that he has any feelings for Justin until season 2. It is alleged but not really talked about until later.

2. Who is Justin's mother?

Answer: Jennifer Taylor

At first Jennifer is upset about her son's sexuality but soon grows to accept it (thanks to Debbie). Later in season one, Justin moves in with Debbie for a period of time after he ran off to New York.

3. Why did Melanie move out in season one?

Answer: She had cheated on Lindsay

Mel cheated but was very regretful afterwards. She and Lindsay had been having problems and another woman must have seemed like a good idea at the time.

4. How does Emmett eat his doughnut?

Answer: With a fork

Emmett told Lindsay at the Liberty Diner that with a house full of hungry brothers and sisters, he used the fork to stick them in that hand if they tried to take his food. That is how he kept his belly filled.

Unfortunately, everyone knew that Blake was still using but Ted wouldn't see it.

When Lindsay asks Melanie to marry her, it is at Lindsay's sister's third wedding reception in front of everyone. Melanie later said that she didn't want to get married because it wouldn't be legal and that they already were a family so there was no point. After Mel realized how important it was to Lindsay, she proposed to her after Gus' first birthday party.
