Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Phong, informing everyone of the grim state Mainframe was in, said that repairs were impossible and that they wouldn't last very long. Bob presented a solution to the problem. He didn't like it, nor did anyone else, but it was the only possible way to be saved. What was the solution?

Answer: The user could reboot the system, thus rebuilding everything in Mainframe.

Bob suggested that the solution was a last resort and not really a pleasant one to hear. While Bob carried on, a game-cube was landing. Matrix and AndrAIa were ready to go when Bob told them not to. As hard as it would be to avoid with their guardian protocols, the loss of the game would create such instabilities that would force the user to reboot and save everyone.
2. With a system crash rapidly approaching, Phong and Dot said that they needed to work fast in order to a very important task. What did they need to do?

Answer: Enter all active PIDs into a computer

Because they agreed that Bob's plan might work, Phong and Dot went about inputting all of the active PIDs into their system. The point of that was if a restart did occur, copies wouldn't be made of the sprites and binomes who were still alive. Only the binomes who were dead would be brought back to life.
3. As Dot's and Phong's plan was completed, Hexadecimal showed up with her trademark "biscuits". After she showed up, Bob told Phong to do something that Phong was very much against. Phong ended up doing it, much to his dissatisfaction. What did Phong do for Hexadecimal?

Answer: He gave her a Mainframe sprite PID.

When Hexadecimal showed up with "biscuits", something was just off. The biscuits were made of Megabyte's viral binomes. The binomes in the cookies, were the two binomes who placed the shock collar on Hexadecimal in the early part of season three. With the lost game leaving, Bob told Phong to give Hexadecimal a PID so she could be a permanent fixture in Mainframe. Bob understood that she was no longer against them, but Phong was still very much against it.
4. Bob's plan worked perfectly! With the system crashing, everything ended up being repaired. Everything was rebuilt, including Megabyte's "Tor" and Megabyte's viral army. Were the viral accessories permanently restored?

Answer: No

With the system restarted by the user, everything was brought back to life. The entire city was rebuilt, including Megabyte's lair. Dead sprites were also brought back, including the viral sprites. Without Megabyte, and a new anti-virus installed, all of the viral binomes were restored back to regular binomes. Megabyte's lair was completely disintegrated.

Hexadecimal was found by the anti-virus program, but thanks to her new PID, she was left alive.
5. After the system was saved, little Enzo has somehow returned. After he knocked down Bob in familiar season one and two fashion, everyone was perplexed at Enzo's return. AndrAIa looked at Matrix and immediately knew why Enzo had respawned. Why did that happen?

Answer: Matrix left his PID in game sprite mode, so the system did not have his PID registered.

If you can remember back to the previous episode: "System Crash", Matrix changed his icon to game sprite mode to show Mr. Pearson how he survived the games. With all of the commotion, such as the users returning to Mainframe, and the threat of deletion, Matrix forgot to change his icon back to sprite mode.

As a result, when Phong and Dot were registering active PIDs, they did not register Matrix's. Without being registered, the system thought he was dead, so when the system restarted, it remade Enzo, much to everyone's surprise.
6. Interrupting the end credits was Mike the TV. He had a special offer. He informed all of those people who did not see season three, about a special performance by which Mainframe musical group?

Answer: The Mainframe Strolling Players

Mike the TV, arguably the most annoying and most funny television character in history, made the offer to everyone who had no idea what was going on in season three. The Mainframe Strolling Players would make a comedic musical rendition of the events of season three. It would include highlights from season two, and Matrix's full journey in season three, from pretender to hero.
7. After cutting away from Mike the TV, the scene shifted to a theatre in Mainframe. There a musical performance was about to begin. Immediately after hearing the music's tune, it was easy to notice that the song they were playing was a direct parody of a production by which two composers?

Answer: Gilbert and Sullivan

Gilbert and Sullivan were famous musical composers, who made many musical operas in the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The final song in "ReBoot", spoofed the "Major-General's Song", by using the same rhythm, but substituting themes from the show into the well-planned lyrics.

This may just be my opinion, but the final song was very well made. It incorporated the spirit of Gilbert and Sullivan with the deep emotion and story of "ReBoot".
8. Complete the lyrics, as sung in the first stanza of the "Recap Song": "The Web invaded Mainframe, sprite and virus battled side by side, attempting to reclaim the city from the rift which opened wide. But Megabyte betrayed ___ and he threw him deep inside the pit..." What is the missing word from the lyrics?

Answer: Bob

The first stanza of the song parodied the end of "ReBoot" season two. When the Web opened up and attacked Mainframe, the viruses joined up with the CPUs to help fight the web-creatures. After Hexadecimal ended up completing the portal destroying weapon Megabyte had, Megabyte tossed Bob into a special capsule. Megabyte also broke Glitch and tossed it on the ground. Mouse and Dot tried to save Bob, but the two viruses were two strong for them. Before launching Bob into the Web, Megabyte looked at Bob one last time.

He pressed the button and Bob was gone until the end of season three.
9. The third part of the "Recap Song" took place after Enzo lost his eye and began game hopping. "I went from Game to Game, I aged, I grew and lost my innocence. I soon became enraged by each and every bad experience. The sprite you knew was gone, I had become a ____ _________ man, I knew from that point on that I was truly Bob's successor man." What were the two missing words from the song?

Answer: Grim aggressor

After losing his eye to the user in episode 3.1.4, Matrix and AndrAIa went on a very long adventure to save Bob and get back to Mainframe. Before his loss, Enzo was a bright, happy child who looked up to Bob like a hero. After Bob was lost and Enzo lost the fighting game, Enzo became battle hardened. According to Matrix there was nothing left of the little Enzo in him. Matrix became angry, enraged, bitter and very muscular. Had AndrAIa not been there with him, he would have gone crazy for sure.
10. The final stanza of the "Recap Song" was set after Mainframe's revival. "It worked! We all were born anew and rid of things barbaric. And now we're back together, everything is ____________!" What is the missing word from the song?

Answer: Alphanumeric

The system was saved by the user, as it was very close to a full collapse. With all of the viruses gone, they were rid of everything barbaric. All of the dead sprites were resurrected by the user, so everyone was indeed back together again. Everything was alphanumeric for the moment.

Turbo's virus warning in the middle of season three would still exist in the future. The supervirus, Daemon, wanted Mainframe and with the system back on the Net, she could begin her assault. That conflict was saved until the fourth season, however. For the moment, everything was as it should be.
