Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 14" Quiz

Answer: Switzerland

After an overnight stay in Locarno, Switzerland, teams took an early trip to the Verzasca Dam in Tenero-Contra to complete the first Road Block of the race. for this task, one member of each team needed to perform a seventy story bungee jump over the edge of the dam. Jaime, Jen, Jodi, Kris, Luke, Michael, Mike, Preston, Steve, Victor, and Victoria completed this Road Block before teams made their way to Kleine Rugen Wiese in Interlaken, Switzerland.

Answer: Run down a mountain

In Leg 2, teams flew to Germany and took a trip to Bavaria to find a clue atop Rauschberg in Ruhpolding. Here, for a Road Block, teams needed to paraglide down the mountain to the next clue box where their teammate would be waiting. Because of wind conditions, many team members opted to take the hour-long hike down the mountain instead. Only Mel (of Mel and Mike) actually waited out to perform the actual task while Tammy, Kris, Linda, Margie, Cara, Victoria, Jen, Christie, and Mark ran down the side of the mountain.

After this task, teams traveled to Schonau am Konigsee for their Detour task.

Answer: Gymnastics

In Leg 3, teams flew to the city of Bucharest, Romania and found their Road Block task waiting at Complexul Sportiv National Lia Manoliu, a gymnast training center in the heart of Romania's capital. Here, one member of each team needed to wear a gymnastic outfit and perform routines on the balance beam, the parallel bars, and on the floor in order to receive their next clue. Amanda, Margie, Mike, Mark, Kisha, Jaime, Jodi, Tammy, and Victoria performed this Road Block task before moving on to Transylvania.

Answer: Bobsled coaster

Heading to Krasnoyarsk, Russia, teams visited the Bobrovy Log Park to complete the Road Block. For this task, one member of each team needed to take a ride along a three-mile-long bobsled coaster track searching for seven letters on the sides of the ride. Once at the bottom, and if the player arrived in under four minutes, teams would be able to use their letters to spell out the name of a Russian playwright, Chekhov. Kisha, Christie, Victor, Luke, Jaime, Mel, Michael and Kris finished this task before making their way to the Pit Stop in the Krasnoyarsk Theater of Musical Comedy.

In Leg 5, teams found their Road Block outside Gosudarstvennaya Publichnaya Nauchnaya Tekhnicheskaya Biblioteka (which is a library) and were told to choose a member with stamina and no shame. This task, completed by Luke, Cara, Tammy, Mike, Mark, Jen, and Christie, required that one member of each team perform a mandatory ten minutes of warm-up before stripping down to their underwear and jogging nearly one and a half miles to the location of their next Pit Stop, Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, where their teammate would be waiting for them.

Answer: Water

Arriving at the Amber Fort in Jaipur in Leg 6, teams needed to choose one member to care for the local camels. To do this, they needed to use traditional tools (a basket and a bucket) to carry hay and camel feel to a nearby station and pile it to a marked line on a wooden pole.

In addition, they needed to fill a trough with fresh drinking water until it overflowed. Once teams did these two chores, they would receive their next clue from a camel herder. Victor, Jaime, Mel, Margie, Kisha, Mark, and Jodi completed this task.

Answer: Cormorant

In Leg 9, teams found their Road Block task waiting near a bridge over looking the Li River in Guilin, China. Here, one member of each team (Tammy, Jaime, Jen, Luke, and Michael) needed to hop into a boat, head to the middle of the lake, and sit on a platform to teach a local bird known as a cormorant how to catch fish. Once the team members tossed ten fish into the water and had their birds retrieve them, they could return to land and trade the basket of fish for their next clue.

Answer: Foot

In one of the more unique Road Blocks of the race, teams headed to Beijing's Liangzi Foot Massage Palace and discovered that their next Road Block would involved receiving a ten minute foot massage. What teams didn't know was that their massage would be quite the painful 'healing technique'. Team members would also need to down two cups of Chinese herbal tea. If teams couldn't bear the pain, they would need to say uncle and start the task from the beginning. Cara, Kisha, Tammy, and Luke finished this task.

Answer: Margie

In the Donghuamen Night Market in Beijing, China, teams were required to find a stall at which they would be completing their Road Block tasks. For this one, team members needed to fry up a series of Chinese delicacies at a stall, then eat them all to receive their next clue.

This early morning breakfast included larva, grasshoppers, a scorpion, and a starfish. When team members completed their dish, they would receive the clue leading to their final Pit Stop, the Bird's Nest. Victor, Margie, Jen and Cara completed this task.

Answer: Build a surfboard wall

In the final leg of the race, teams made their way to Kaohu Farms on Hana Highway in Maui. Here, Victor, Luke, and Jaime finished the final task requiring that one member of each team search through over three hundred surfboards for eleven depicting places visited in the previous legs of the race.

Not only that, but teams needed to place them into the correct order (including the two halves of Leg 10). This would prove to be a very important task in deciding the fate of the final three teams on their way to the finish line.
