1. Episode 1: "My First Day". In the very first "Scrubs" scene we see J.D. preparing for his first day as a medical intern. Where is he?

Answer: In front of a mirror

This episode, the pilot, starts off with J.D. doing silly things in front of his mirror, including putting shaving cream all over his body. We are introduced in this opener to most of the major characters, including J.D's best friend, Turk, and co-workers Elliot, Dr Cox and Chief of Medicine Bob Kelso. We also meet the janitor, who immediately takes a dislike to J.D. after a misunderstanding relating to a penny that may or may not be jammed in the automatic door.

2. Episode 2: "My Mentor". J.D. spends a lot of time in this episode trying to convince a patient to quit smoking. Does he ultimately succeed?

Answer: No

Dr Cox turns out to be right about the patient, Will, who claims to be about to quit. In an amusing set of events, J.D. turns up to Dr Cox's house to discuss the patient, only to be thrown out when Cox's friends arrive.

3. Episode 3: "My Best Friend's Mistake". How long does J.D. suggest he has to kiss Elliot before they enter the "friend zone"?

J.D. just misses his chance, and in one of his fantasy moments, walks into a room of the hospital packed with other guys sharing notes on how they know her. In an interesting side story, Elliot takes offence to Kelso's use of the word 'sweetheart', but later changes her mind when she realises it's to her advantage to be on his good side.

J.D. is struggling with his patient's decision not to have dialysis; her argument is that she has had a good life (being 74 and having done lots of things in her time). Her death is therefore not a surprise, but the other two patients die unexpectedly, with the odds being against them (in J.D's words).

5. Episode 5: "My Two Dads". Turk gives Carla a pen that he finds in the lost and found box. But what is the problem with it?

Answer: There is no lost and found box

Unfortunately, what Turk thinks is the lost and found box is the box of things that have been extracted from inside people! Meanwhile, J.D. plays golf with Dr Kelso and Dr Cox and gets an insight into their dislike for each other.

6. Episode 6: "My Bad". J.D. has a brief fling with an older woman called Jordan in this episode, only to find out that she has a relationship with Dr Cox. Who is she?

Answer: His ex-wife

In an amusing end to the episode, J.D. finishes saying how important honesty is, before flatly denying to Cox that he slept with Jordan. In the end, Jordan does the right thing and helps overturn Cox's suspension.

7. Episode 7: "My Super Ego". At the end of this episode, what happens to Nick, the rival doctor that keeps outshining J.D?

Answer: He quits

Nick seems to have everything together, but his inability to do anything for a terminally-ill child forces him to quit as a doctor. Meanwhile, Turk has his own minor confidence issue when he nearly makes a mistake in surgery.

8. Episode 8: "My Fifteen Minutes". Pictures of J.D. and Turk are put up on billboards to promote the hospital in this episode.

Turk and J.D. save a cameraman's life on live TV and Kelso takes advantage of this to promote the hospital. Turk is suspicious and thinks he's just been chosen because he's a black doctor.

9. Episode 9: "My Day Off". J.D. gets a rare day off, but ends up back at the hospital. Why?

Answer: He has appendicitis

J.D. is uncomfortable with the idea of Turk taking out his appendix, and requests another doctor, which upsets Turk. In the end, J.D. needs an emergency removal and Turk does it anyway, being the doctor on call.

Answer: Dr Kelso

Turk discovers a quiet spot where he enjoys lunch every day, only to discover it is also Kelso's spot. They don't enjoy sharing it, setting up a very amusing battle for the spot.
