The 4 girls were having lunch, when Charlotte came in distraught because she doesn't think she can get pregnant, after Trey's fertility tests turned out fine. When Charlotte mentions the funny thing was that in her 20's, she was so careful with using contraceptives because she was worried about getting pregnant, when she could have been screwing everything in sight, Samantha then responded with this line.

When Carrie needs to buy her apartment from Aidan and is finding it difficult to come up with the money, Miranda helps her realize that she has spent over $40,000 dollars on shoes alone.
