John Jones flies Clark towards the sun, which serves as the primary source of Clark's powers on Earth, and being closer to it accelerates his healing factor. However, this process takes away Jones' powers, likely because Martian Manhunter's weakness is fire/heat.

Despite fan outcry and protest, the character of Batman never appears in "Smallville". No member of the Green Lantern Corp makes an appearance, but Hawkman does appear later on, played by Canadian actor Michael Shanks.
