Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The episode begins with the Marsh family celebrating their grandfather's birthday, although he is not having that much fun. After singing "Happy Birthday", which treat does Sharon, Stan's mom, offer the kids to have with the cake?

Answer: Ice cream

Grandpa Marvin is upset because of how old he is getting, since he turns 102, and tells his son, Randy (Stan's dad) that he'd be better off dead, and even asks to be killed! Stan asks his mom if he can eat his cake in the living room, but his mom forces him to do so with his grandfather.
2. In the living room, Stan is calmly watching "Terrance and Phillip" when his grandfather suddenly pulls out a rifle and tries to kill himself, failing. Which of these items did the bullet hit?

Answer: A painting

After shooting the painting and realizing his attempt to kill himself failed, he offers Billy (somehow he thinks that's Stan's name) a dollar in exchange for shooting him. Stan obviously refuses, stating that "he would get in trouble" as an excuse. Grandpa Marvin angrily leaves the room, asking himself "what has America's youth come to? Kids won't even kill their own grandparents".
3. Meanwhile, Kyle and his brother Ike are at their house watching "Terrance and Phillip" when their mom interrupts, outraged by the language used in the show. Whose mother is the first to get a call from Kyle's mom, immediately after she forbade her kids to watch the show?

Answer: Cartman's

Mrs. Broflovski refers to "Terrence and Phillip" as "immature humor". Kyle defends himself saying that everybody watches the show, which encourages his mom to call Eric Cartman's mother. Mrs. Cartman, who is usually portrayed as being totally submissive to her son, tells Eric about the call, but he pays no attention to her.
4. As Stan read his chore list, he noticed something odd in it, since the fourth thing to do was to "kill grandpa". Which of these things was NOT on Stan's chore list?

Answer: Do dishes

Stan's three-part chore list is taped on his bedroom door. The list is written in black ink, however, there is a fourth item written in blue, uppercase letters that reads "kill grandpa". When Stan yells he would not kill his grandpa, Grandpa Marvin calls him an "ingrate".
5. The following day at school, Stan asks both Mr. Garrison and Chef about whether he should help his grandpa kill himself, but both avoid giving any advice to Stan. Which controversial term relates to assisted suicide that Stan refers to?

Answer: Euthanasia

At school, Mr. Garrison informs the kids that he will ask their parents to no longer allow them to watch "Terrance and Phillip", following a call from Kyle's mom, since the show portrays toilet humour.

Stan asks Mr. Garrison if it's OK to help kill his grandpa if that's what he wants, and then asks Chef at the cafeteria. However, both say that they're not touching that topic with him. Said topic is the highly controversial subject of euthanasia, which refers to assisted suicide or ending a life in order to end a certain suffering.
6. At a P.T.A. meeting lead by Mrs. Broflovski, a clip of "Terrance and Phillip" is shown. Mrs. Broflovski says that "apparently that's supposed to be funny", and it actually is for one of the parents in the crowd. Which of these characters is the only one to laugh at the clip of the show?

Answer: Randy

Randy, Stan's dad, is the only one who laughs at the joke, saying "he farted right on his hand" while giggling. However, this isn't funny to anyone else in the crowd, who stared at him annoyed. Mrs. Broflovski says that not only should they stop their kids from watching the show, but boycott the entire network as well! They go to the headquarters of the TV network to get the show out of the air.
7. Back at Stan's home, Grandpa Marvin asks "Billy" and his friends to help him stick a fork in a power outlet so he could die, but Stan tries to ignore him. While the kids are watching "Terrance and Phillip", Stan's grandpa asks him to hold which item for him?

Answer: A piece of rope

Worried about whether he should help kill someone in pain who wants to die, Stan calls Jesus to his TV show "Jesus and Pals", but even Jesus refuses to talk about the topic. Grandpa Marvin tries to make Cartman mad so he can kill him, but Stan distracts Cartman just in time.

While the kids watched "Terrance and Phillip", Grandpa Marvin asked Stan to hold a piece of rope and Stan agreed if he got out of the way of the TV. Stan's sister came in yelling because Stan, unknowingly, was choking his grandpa with the rope, in another of his attempts to kill himself.
8. Grandpa Marvin tries to show Stan how it feels to be old, so he locks his grandson in a room while listening to a version of Enya's "Orinoco Flow". Stan finally agrees to kill him, and ties an animal above his grandpa so that it falls on him. Which animal is this?

Answer: A cow

Stan and his friends tie a rope to a tree and then hang a cow with it, and place it just above Stan's grandpa. A police car passes by but prompts them to "carry on", seeing no suspicious behavior. But before anything else happens, Death itself appears and chases the kids. Stan calls his parents but they don't pay attention to him, saying they're doing something important (protesting against "Terrance and Phillip"). Stan and Kyle then reflect on the fact that parents should pay more attention to their kids and their lives instead of relying on television as a babysitter.

It was later revealed that Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of "South Park", wrote the episode as a response to criticism that the show was an easy show to make because of its content based on flatulence jokes.
9. When Grandpa Marvin tells Death that it was supposed to kill him, the ghost of Marvin's own grandfather appears and tells Marvin he must die of natural causes. Taking this into account, where does Grandpa Marvin travel, considering that "400 people are eaten naturally by lions" in that place?

Answer: Africa

Death interrupts chasing the kids because he is briefly entertained by "Terrance and Phillip". When the show is cut off the air, he resumes the chase. Grandpa Marvin confronts Death on why it hasn't killed him, but then his own grandpa's ghost appears. He reminds Marvin that he was the one who killed his own grandpa. Also referring to him as "Billy", Marvin's grandfather says it's wrong to place Stan in that position, since he is so concerned in ending his life that he doesn't realize what he would do to Stan's, in reference to the trauma that killing his own grandfather would represent.

Since his grandfather told him he must die of natural causes, Grandpa Marvin leaves to Africa, stating that "400 people are eaten naturally by lions" there.

Death touches Kenny and kills him, and Stan then thinks that maybe Death was chasing after Kenny all the time.
10. Throughout the entire episode, Kenny is shown to be suffering from a certain condition, which makes him constantly go to the bathroom, and he spreads this disease through the entire town of South Park. Which of these is it?

Answer: Explosive diarrhea

Kenny arrives late at school excusing himself with the fact that he was suffering from explosive diarrhea. He immediately goes to the classroom bathroom after that. He also needs to go to the bathroom while the kids are watching "Terrance and Phillip" at Stan's house.

Kenny spreads it to Mr. Garrison, who basically spreads it to everyone involved in the protest at the TV network. This indirectly helps the protesters, since strangely, everyone that needed to go to the bathroom couldn't hold it, and their feces could be seen outside the TV network's headquarters. Unable to bear the smell, the network decides to pull "Terrance and Phillip" out of the air, making the diarrhea more successful than the other type of protest, that is, people killing themselves by being thrown to the network's building with a slingshot.

The episode reflects how parents are so concerned with what is on TV that they don't pay attention to what really happens with their children. It's also funny that throughout the show, toilet humor is displayed among South Park residents, showing that they do consider it funny, but not when it's shown on TV to their children.

Finally, "Terrance and Phillip" is replaced with "She's the Sheriff", but when Mrs. Broflovski realizes the show also uses profane language, she heads back to New York (where the TV network is headquartered) with Stan's parents.
