Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the very beginning of the episode, a black and white picture is shown, with a podium in it. Which three words are written on the podium?

Answer: Human Freak Exhibit

This happens inside the room of Henrietta, a goth girl whose parents are concerned because of her "evil" behavior, as they describe it. She and her goth friends are holding a meeting and reading a magazine with Edgar Allan Poe on the cover when her mother interrupts.
2. Henrietta claims her mother abuses her, and so her friends go report the abuse to the Child Protective Services office. What word does Henrietta's mom call her that she and her friends consider abusive?

Answer: Emo

Henrietta is outraged by the fact that her parents don't know the difference between an emo and a goth, so she "protects herself from the abuse" with her goth friends, who go to the Child Services office. Obviously, the woman in charge cannot understand what's wrong with a parent calling her daughter an emo! In fact, she can't tell the difference between emo and goth herself!
3. Henrietta's parents decide to send her to a camp to straighten her up and make her forget about the goth ideology. Two weeks later, when she returns, what has she become?

Answer: An emo

When Henrietta gets off the bus, her friends, who are waiting for her, are incredibly surprised. Henrietta has her hair dyed in purple, and she is not wearing a cross anymore. She starts mentioning suicide and listening to emo music, so Michael thinks the camp turned her emo on purpose.
4. Michael's parents suddenly decide to send him to the same camp Henrietta attended. Pete and Firkle then take an important decision: they would have to team up with their enemies, the vampires. Who is the leader of the Vampire Society?

Answer: Mike Makowski

Mike "Vampir" Makowski is a fanatic of the "Twilight" series, and besides being a student, he leads the South Park Vampire Society. When Pete and Firkle enter the Vampire Society meeting, the vampires reject them, however, they unite against a common enemy: the emos.
5. Henrietta hangs out with her emo friends now, and when she invites them to a concert, one of them says she's too depressed to go. Which band, known for songs like "The Phoenix" and "Young Volcanoes", would perform in the concert?

Answer: Fall Out Boy

Henrietta even has a poster of the band in her room. While she is "hurting", or cutting herself, her mom interrupts again, and Henrietta kicks her out of her room again, saying, "Sorry I'm such a disappointment". Her mom takes that as progress, saying that she at least apologized!

One of the emo kids then suggests to paint the White House black, and have Fall Out Boy play in the Super Bowl.
6. The Vampire Society and the Goths decide to summon the Vamp's greatest idol: Edgar Allan Poe. In which part of the school does this take place?

Answer: Library

Mike summons Edgar Allan Poe "calling upon the creator of all that is dark, knower of all that is misery", and claims that "his children need special guidance". Pete questions the plan, saying it's impossible to bring him back from the dead.

However, the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe does show up in the library! He calls emos "wanna-be conformists".
7. While Edgar Allan Poe agrees to help the dark kids, Michael wakes up in front of a bunch of ficuses. An employee, who is watering them, confesses the emos are really the plants! They supposedly intend to get inside humans so they can be more powerful. While a ficus gets inside Michael, the goth kids and the vampires arrive to the camp. What is the name of the camp?

Answer: Troubled Acres

Troubled Acres claims to be a rehab center for "at risk teens". However, it is really a nursery for ficus plants, with closed circuit cameras in every room to ensure safety, all of which are watched by... you guessed it: plants. The employee who waters the plants is called Harold Flannigan, and he is the only human to work there.
8. They find Michael tied up and kick the plant to stop the transformation. Pete suggests burning the whole place down but he is stopped by a surprising turn of events: Firkle is an emo! He points a gun at them and tells them to join the emos. After they're all tied up, Edgar Allan Poe shows up and shoots the plant, which doesn't work of course. He then pulls a price tag, showing the plant was bought in which home improvement store?

Answer: Lowe's

According to the price tag, the common ficus Poe shoots, which is the "Emo King", was purchased from Lowe's Home and Garden at a price of $29.95. After all, they were all purchased at Lowe's. Harold is amazed, saying the plants do really talk to him. However, it turns out to be a hidden-camera show called "Yes, I Was Scared", which has tricked Harold into thinking the ficuses are talking to him!
9. Harold's wife Sarah reveals that she pranked him! This is all an elaborate joke planned by Harold's wife. The host claims that emos, vamps and goths are really the exact same thing, and invites the viewers to watch next week's episode, where a Milwaukee woman will think she's working at a haunted abortion clinic. Michael and Pete go to Henrietta to explain the plants aren't really emo, and that she turned an emo herself, with nobody's help. When she refuses to believe this, what does Pete tell her?

Answer: They torched the plant leader

Pete says, "They infiltrated the emo lair and torched the plant leader". Henrietta appears to be choking and then claims to be "her again", which means she is back to being goth.

Henrietta's mother interrupts again to announce dinner's ready, and when Henrietta shuts her up, she calls her daughter a "fatty", thus ending the episode.
10. The main characters of the show are Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny. Do any of them appear at some point in this episode?

Answer: No

Nope, the episode is entirely dedicated to the goths and the vampires and the emos! (Who, according to that TV show host, are all the same thing). None of the main characters show up during this one. This is the only episode of season 17 that does not feature any of the main characters.
